Know you’re not on an island by yourself and don’t allow others to feel as if they are stranded. Be accountable, hold others accountable.
Offer sage advice and counsel, be open to advice in return. Know your value, your worth, be value added and always value others. Words have meaning-say what you mean and mean what you say. Aspire for greatness; inspire greatness. Through victories and defeats your actions will truly define your character. There will be days you become professionally frustrated and days where you feel you’re on top of the world.
Understand the culture within your organization and have the presence of self-awareness. Be receptive to change as well as an advocate for change. Commit to yourself and others. Soar with your strengths, manage your weaknesses. Take action. Maintain your center of gravity. Welcome all experiences. Challenge yourself and others to go beyond personal and self-imposed comfort zones. Have an open mind; be the solution, don’t be the problem. Success will alway leave clues.
Positive relationships will bring out the best in you, whereas negative relationships will bring out the worst in you. Associate yourself with positive beings. Communicate, nothing good comes from a making decisions in a vacuum or bubble. Solicit input, ask for help when in need and offer help in return. Share your story, ask others to share theirs-listen.
Every decision you make is a form of communication, be authentic. Be mindful of others by showing compassion, empathy and perspective. Be great, do great work, because greatness is expected of you. Create, foster and cherish personal and professional relationships. You are a part of something bigger than yourself.
