If God was a tyrant He would force you to love Him or obey Him.

But He is not, He is your creator not a tyrant. He loves you and that's why He gives you free will, to give you the option to love Him back, or turn away from Him.

He loves you so much that He sent His son to die for your sins, so that He could forgive you, and offer you eternal peace.
