His father was Robert Henchy, an advertising executive who died in 2008 at age 68; his mother was Constance (née O’Connor), a writer and actress. His stepmother was the late actress Victoria Mallory. He has four sisters, Maggie, Elizabeth, Sissy and Deirdre. He is a member of the Democratic Party.

Career & Accomplishments

H began his writing career in the late 1980s on the sitcom Head of the Class. He later went on to work on several other series including Married With Children and The People Next Door. In 2006, Henchy co-wrote The Campaign with Shawn Harwell and Adam McKay; Ferrell starred in the film.

He recently produced an HBO documentary called The Diplomat, which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival this year. He also directed a documentary called Big Mac: Inside the McDonald’s Empire, which was released in 2002.

Henchy has written two movie scripts with Ferrell — Get Hard (which would star Ferrell and Kevin Hart), and Daddy’s Home (starring Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg).

He has also produced and written for such hit television shows as Entourage and Spin City, Chris Henchy is also a former producer of HBO’s Real Time with Bill Maher, and he is the co-creator of Spike TV’s Blue Mountain State.

His film credits include Land of the Lost, The Other Guys, Semi-Pro, Blades of Glory and Bewitched. With Ferrell he also co-wrote The Campaign, which was released in August 2012.
