Nowness

An Entryway to the Cosmic Realm…

Nowness is an exit from time. Nowness is a complete moment, a speck of Eternity. It is a place of silence within the flow of the ALL. When in Nowness, one is focused in the Moment only; there is no roof brain chatter, no incoming thoughts —— only an awareness which perceives in Wholes. It is this focused awareness which can become an entryway into the Cosmic Realm.

Nowness is the bridge spanning the world of duality and the realm of Cosmic Consciousness; the Nowness consciousness belongs to its periphery. One is still aware of the material world. It is, however, now a world which has been altered by the Cosmic Glow which casts a softness upon the harshness of the material world. One no longer feels that one is “inside” of this material world but rather that one is looking “into” it from outside. One’s awareness is no longer connected to any sense of time or duality.

The physical body is still immersed in time but is now only on the outer fringes of one’s consciousness. The physical body has receded, lost its heaviness. The body appears to be gliding rather than walking and one does not even feel the ground beneath. All the body’s movements are effortless and the body moves on its own without being given directions. It seems to know automatically where it is that one wants to go. The body has its own mind and consciousness, quite independent of ourselves. The sense of connection with one’s physical body is dependent on the degree to which one has moved into Cosmic Consciousness.

Our bodies are oscillators and it is these oscillations which produce the different rates of vibrations which carry one in and out of different levels of consciousness and their accompanying realms.

The body must be trained to sustain the finer and faster vibrations — which create the dimension of Nowness- and eventual entry into the deeper realms of Cosmic Consciousness. The depth to which one is absorbed by the Cosmic Consciousness depends on the vibrations produced. The faster the vibrations are, the deeper the level of Cosmic Consciousness.

In Nowness one has stepped out of Mind. All is perceived directly in all its purity, as the Mind is not there to act as a filter. The lower self, which is ever a barrier to TRUTH, has receded into the background. The filtering agent has been deactivated.

The knowledge that one has entered into Nowness usually occurs with a sudden realization that one’s perception has altered. The old world has taken on a different look and one’s angle of observation has changed. One normally does not feel this new perception coming on; it is just suddenly there. However, once in Nowness and provided it continues to take one to yet higher levels, one does feel the changing and deepening of Consciousness.

Leaving Nowness is normally an abrupt departure. It is usually caused by the senses being activated by the material world through some jarring factor such as a loud noise, a physical touch or the restarting of thoughts. It is somewhat like suddenly awakening from a deep dream. Only this time, when coming out of Nowness or a yet higher reality, we are going back into the dreaming of our material world.

When one is functioning within the first stages of Cosmic Consciousness, one has become an objective observer and also the observed. One is merged with all objects, yet not lost within them. One never looses awareness of one’s I-am-ness. One is the Wholeness and at the same moment the composites of that Wholeness. One’s Being is in a complete Fullness-of–Satisfaction. Here, all material contradictions have merged; duality has now become Unity. Within that Unity lays Stillness and one now IS that Stillness.

Even Nowness, which is only a first step into Cosmic Consciousness, has a force and power which cannot be imagined by the lower man. In Nowness Man can see and understand many things of which he is not capable when living only in the consciousness of the lower man, even if he were a genius among Men. All that would come to a Man while living in Nowness, even if he knew that his death was approaching, would be accepted in peacefulness and equanimity. Such is the power of Nowness.

Nowness is a state of non-attachment. When one is in a complete state of “Satisfaction” there is nothing remaining to be attached to, not even one’s lower self. From the perspective of Nowness one does not even “feel” any attachment to the material world or possessive attachment to any one individual.

This higher value of “feeling” cannot be compared with the emotions which one commonly feels and exhibits in one’s normal state of consciousness; it has a completely different ‘taste’. One is now an integral part of the Brotherhood-Of-All-Life; one feels Compassion and Love towards all alike. All life is of equal value, regardless of the type of vehicle containing it. The same Living-Force flows through all. In Nowness one does not breathe, one is breathed by the DIVINE.

When one is functioning within the first stages of Cosmic Consciousness — one is the objective observer and at the same time the observed. One is intimately merged with all objects but not lost within them. One perceives everything as from afar while yet having a vibrant connection with All. One is the Wholeness while at the same moment the composites of that Wholeness. One never loses awareness of one’s I-Am-Ness.

The majority of Mankind, unable to see the benign aspects of the negative events in their lives, often call the DIVINE cruel and unjust and cry out “why me!” They see their pain and suffering as retribution rather than lessons needed to be learned. They judge all events in their lives and in others through the filter of their cultural morality. Within Nowness and all other stages of Cosmic Consciousness morality does not exist. Morality is manmade, impermanent and has changeable attributes which vary from culture to culture. Morality causes inequality and injustice. Only within Cosmic Consciousness and even within its lowest realm of Nowness does equality exist for all.

All systems, all yoga, all religions, all spiritual practices are but methods for finding a way through the “eye of the needle.” NOWNESS is a bridge, a potential pathway to the ETERNAL HOME which is Mankind’s heritage.
