Arrow: A New Hope

Starting a fair launch project is hard. Really hard. Probably even harder than any of the co-founders of Arrow expected it to be.

Arrow was launched with the ideals of privacy and equal opportunity for miners and the community at large. The cofounders still feel strongly about this approach, but there is no doubt that the team faces myriad challenges associated with not having an ICO or fundraiser of any type.

Among the most difficult of those challenges is acquiring talented developers to refine and improve the protocol. Because of this, we have made the decision to reallocate a portion of the founders reward to enable us to direct a much larger percentage of it towards retaining skilled developers. Bully and other cofounders will be shifting towards advisory roles and moving their rewards to a full time developer for Arrow.

With that said, we would like to extend an extremely warm welcome to the newest member of the team, Forge. Forge is a highly experienced and skilled developer who has been working as lead developer for Zero Currency for the last several years. Zero uses much of the same zk-SNARK technology as Arrow so he will be able to contribute to the project immediately. Forge will help us improve the current wallets for Arrow as well as help implement future improvements to the protocol.

We would also like to welcome our new community manager, Silent_JJ. Many of you will recognize him as a longtime moderator of our chat channels and we are excited for him to take on a larger role within the team.

In the last few months a lot has changed in the cryptocurrency landscape, especially with regard to DEXs. We are currently pursuing options to increase liquidity for Arrow in both the CEX and DEX worlds. Uniswap has proved to be by far the most successful DEX in crypto’s brief history, and we think it will pave the way for similar advancements in other sectors of the space. There are several different projects which are currently working towards liquidity solutions that will work for more than just Ethereum tokens, including privacy coins. Some of these solutions will likely be available as soon as a couple months from now.

All of us at Arrow would like to express how grateful we are to the community for sticking with us. We know there have been some challenging times and want to stress that we are always paying attention to what the community is asking for and doing our best to meet these goals. Our interests are aligned with the community. We want improvements to liquidity and the wallets just as badly as you do, trust us. We have taken specific steps to advance the project toward these ends and have several ideas in the pipeline that we believe will enable us to deliver solutions in the not so distant future.
