I am a person who love to learn new things, new applications, distinct behaviors to be more productive in any field. It provides me a chance to be more diverse than others. Because it is the desire of everyone, I think, to be productive 24/7.

hmmm… So you have the same one!

Well after a research for the project given in the Amal fellowship, I came to know something that is extremely useful for almost every person. What I have found is Pomodoro Technique. I have found much success using the technique. And I get that some people argue against it. You might think that you can work nonstop for hours. And that’s cool. But the majority of us, aren’t robots. We’re humans and have flaws. We get distracted. We need to answer that text. We need to check Twitter.

Pomodoro Technique comes to rescue

How does the Pomodoro technique work?

Okay… as the Pomodoro Technique is a time management method developed by Francesco Cirillo in the late 1980’s. The technique uses a timer to break down work into intervals, traditionally 25 minutes in length, separated by short breaks of 5 minutes and then repeating the process. May be you have ever heard of this technique. And if you haven’t, you’re welcome.

Lemme share an experience of my own. As I am an Engineering student so there are quizzes in every week. So this weekend I started to prepare quiz by using Pomodoro Technique. I downloaded stopwatch app on my mobile and switch the flight mode turn on. I locked my room attached headphones to my mobile and played Noisli. It was not easy to take my phone on flight mode for a long time but I managed to do so. I studied for 25 minutes constantly without even thinking of any other thing and than relaxed for absolute 5 minutes. In two hours of continuous struggle, I was prepared for my quiz. I was just amazed, because I made that in a very short period. The technique was really astonishing and 100% working.

So, I will describe 5 hacks that you can do to better the Pomodoro technique which I have used and I believe that these tweaks can be a great starting point for you. There you go…

  1. Eliminate the internet

2. Forget the timer, try the stopwatch

3. Understand your behavior

4. Don’t hear music, hear Noisli

5. It’s 5-minutes, not 20 minutes

Try these things, Have fun and Best of Luck. :)
