I am very excited for CRISPR eliminating cancer (2 of my family members were victims to it). One thing I wonder about, though, is how well our brains are equipped to surviving for longer amounts of time.
It seems even if we were able to get rid of cancerous cells entirely, we wouldn’t be able to increase our life quality at the later ages. My grandma passed at 83 from pancreatic cancer and her mind was deteriorating at faster rates than her body.
My understanding of CRISPR might be completely off, but if we were able to utilize it to help our brains recover some of its lost capacity — it would be absolutely amazing.
