two thoughts on this. My 20 year old niece can't get a job. If there is a shortage everywhere (if you believe the signs around here) why won't employers respond to her applications? She sends them out weekly, but yet the silence is deafening on their end.

I recently got back to my job after 16 months on furlough. The company I work for finally decided to be nice and give me a small bump in pay. I had been told years ago that I would never get another raise, that I had reached their corporate "ceiling" for my job title.

While I make decent enough money for what I do, that is kind of a kick in the teeth to be told you cannot make any more than what you do now.
