It don’t even need to be Apple job for this happening, long time ago Canonical (the company behind Ubuntu) tried to launch Ubuntu Edge, a smartphone dock a like with plug and play sorcery which when plugged became a full fledged desktop computer with all the stuff a normal computer weird would ever need
