How to make a Plant Cell Model?

Here, we are going to discuss about some key components that will help you to make a Plant Cell Model. But before we discuss about the steps to make model we need to know about Plant cells and Animal cells.

• All animals and Plants are made of cells.Animal cells and plant cells have some common features like cytoplasm, cell membrane and mitochondria.
• Plant cells also have a cell wall, they also possess chloroplasts and permanent vacuole.
• Chloroplast help to make thier food by process of photosynthesis.
• Mitochondria is called the power house of the cell as it stores various enzymes and proteins in it.

What are the differences between Plant and Animal cell???

• Plants need a millions of cells to survive. They carry various functions.
• Animals cells also contains various parts like Mitochondria, Cytoplasm and Nucleus.
• However plant cells are larger than animal cells because they possess some special features like cell wall, vacuole and chloplasts.

Fuctions of each part of Plant Cell:-

1. The Cell wall in a plant cell is made up of Cellulose.Cellulose help the plant cell to make it rigid and give a specific shape.
2. The Cell membrane is porous that is, semipermeable membrane which allows substances to pass through it inward to outward and outward to inward.
3. Various type of components ehich are present in the cell:-

• CYTOPLASM :- It is a Jelly like substance in which chemical reactions take place.
• Chloroplast :- It contain a green pigment
• The nucleus contains DNA and it manages the cell activities.
• The Vacuole stores nutrients which help it to servive.

Steps to make a Plant Cell model:-

• Research the parts of a plant cell:- First of all you need to know what are various parts of Plant Cell and what are their functions.
• Now gather the parts as given below:-

1. Take a shoe box to build the plant cell model.
2. Cut wax paper to fix at the base of the shoebox.This will represent the Cytoplasm.
3. Label the inner wall of shoebox as the cell wall of the Plant Cell Model.
4. Place the black yarn along the inner part of thr shoebox.This is cell membrane.
5. Draw a smaller circle in the center of the shoebox with a black marker.make one more circle inside it This will represent the nuclear membrane of the Nucleus.
6. Place three small candies on the wax paper where there is space. This is chloroplast.
7. You can put three brown beans ti the bran strips. These beans are Ribosomes in the cell.
8. Glue two Pretzels to the wax paper. It is Golgi body or you may say Golgi apparatus.
9. Now Label each irganell with its appropriate name.
