T-Mobile has announced its next step in achieving its goal to build mobile 5G all over the nation. According to a report, consumers in Dallas, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, and New York will be the first set of customers to access the 5G Smartphones. This announcement was made at the Mobile World Congress that took place in Barcelona.

T-Mobile aims to extend the 5G across 30 cities in the course of the year and it is believed that customers residing in New York, Dallas, Las Vegas, and Los Angeles will be the first to explore it when the 5G Smartphones are launched in the coming year.

5G connections promise data speeds of hundreds of mbps, to 1gbps, in real world applications. Horizon Communications aims to deploy 5G equipment in data hungry fix wireless areas in our deployments, so that businesses and large groupings of homes can take advantage of the 1gbps speeds that can be provided from such technology.

Unlike Duopoly technology, T-Mobile is dedicated to providing a fully revolutionary 5G experience that is functional on Smartphones and that works nationwide. Beyond working nationwide, it is also expected to work with the latest LTE networks that harness both the 4G and 5G concurrently. According to T-Mobile’s president and CEO, John Legere, T-Mobile is more interested in focusing on customer instead of on bragging rights, like Duopoly is doing. He went further to reveal that T-Mobile has bigger plans to offer a truly innovative 5G experience on the Smartphones all over the nation.

5G goes beyond faster speeds; it is designed to give brand new Internet of Things experiences, ultra responsive networks, massive connectivity, decade long battery life, increased speed, and smart cities. While Duopoly is interested in creating 5G hotspots in only urban locations, T-Mobile recognizes that customers require 5G connection that will not vanish when they are out of their house or out of the urban areas.

According to the Chief Technology Officer of T-Mobile, Neville Ray, the vision of T-Mobile for the future of 5G is to keep the customers at the center of everything, just like it was done when T-Mobile developed the fastest LTE network in the country. He went further to reveal that in addition to implementing the 5G equipment, and lighting up the 5G technology in low band spectrum of 600MHz, the telecom company plans to start creating 5G on millimetre wave spectrum in this year.

It’s uncommon for carriers to try and bring 5G speeds to lower frequencies, as typically those spectrum bands are still being used for legacy 2G and 3G connections.

T-Mobile has an advantage with 5G, especially with its un-crowded multi spectrum and spectrum holdings approach. While many other wireless operators need to get rid of customers from their overcrowded LTE network to develop the 5G technology, T-Mobile is developing 5G on massive free airwaves. Another thing that the carrier has going for it is that it is the only US wireless provider to proclaim its campaign for standard based 5G technology across diverse spectrum bands.

It is also expected that the company will implement 25,000 small cells to illuminate the Licensed Assisted Access (LAA). This is a technology that gives extra speed and capacity while clearing the way for the 5G. A strategy focusing on multi spectrum approach is very crucial to providing an exceptional consumer experience. That is, an experience that entails nationwide coverage and dependability from low-band spectrum, and multi gigabit hotspots on campuses and around urban areas with millimetre wave.
