Why people using medium?

What is main point why people decide to use medium? Is it network? Is it easy to use system?

For me, it's clean design. They did really well on that.

Other network what I'm using and recommending is writer.is . It's something really unique. Why? Because there you can get feeling like you are reading article in ''real time''. Bacground images, music — awesome reading experience.
