AI Art Generators

Let’s start with AI art generators.

These tools allow you to create original and unique images from simple text inputs.

You can describe what you want to see and the AI will generate it.

Also, some tools on this list allow for image-to-image generation where you transform one image into another using AI.

1. DALL-E 3

Try here

DALL-E 3 is one of the leading AI image generator models.

To start using this image model, you must sign up for ChatGPT Premium. If you want to find a free alternative, scroll a bit down below.

After you’ve signed up for ChatGPT, you can just send a message to the AI to tell what you want it to create.

This automatically invokes the DALL-E 3 model behind the scenes.

But this sounds way too technical. In simpler terms, type what you want to see in the text field and you’re good to go.

For example, here I’ve told the AI to create an image of the Finnish countryside:

And here’s the result it gave me:

I must say that looks very much like it does here in Finland.

As another example, let’s create an interior design using AI. This time I asked the AI to create an interior design for a Finnish cottage. Here’s the result it gave me:

Last but not least, let’s try something cute. This time, I wanted to create an image of puppies playing in the field. Here’s what DALL-E 3 gave me:

Remember, if you’re not familiar with how AI image generators work, these are unique and original images that did not exist prior.

2. Ideogram AI

Try here

Ideogram AI is an AI image generator that doesn’t even ask you to sign up to start creating.

Very similar to DALL-E 3 or any other AI image generator, this tool has a text field where you can describe the image you want to see.

On top of that, you have the community showcase where you can draw inspiration for your inputs (if you’re not sure how to get specific results.)

I tested Ideogram AI with the same input as DALL-E 3. I wanted to create a bunch of images that resemble a Finnish countryside with a lake, cottages, and some sunny day clouds.

Here are the results:

One thing I didn’t like is that it actually took about 2 minutes to create the images.

But this depends on the time of the day.

If there’s a rush, the waiting times are longer because thousands of other people are using it at the same time.

By the way, here’s a close-up shot of each of the AI-generated images that I got for free from Ideogram.

All the images look good except for the very first image. It has a too-dark blue and uniform sky color. It almost looks like a 3D game.

But the other images look very realistic and exactly like it looks here. I couldn’t really tell if these were real or fake.

By the way, Ideogram also allows you to generate with control.

Of course, if this is your first time using AI image generators, you don’t need these settings. But if you have some experience, make sure to mess with those to get more accurate results.

Here are two more images I made with Ideogram about a Finnish cottage interior design:

The right-most image illustrates a common problem with AI images. The images look good but the text rendered into those tends to fail the more characters there are.

One of the best AI image generators (and my favorite) is NightCafe.

This tool shines because it has all the latest image models—not just one or two like other tools tend to have.

You can use this for example to generate images with DALL-E 3 that I mentioned before.

On top, you can use all the buzzing models for creating artistic images, cartoons, anime, realistic images, logos, and more.

Just pick one of the AI models and tell the AI what you want to see.

For example, here I’ve told the AI to create an image of the Finnish countryside we saw in my earlier examples. I’ve selected the Dreamshaper XL Lightning model (whatever that means.)

As a result, I got this:

That looks cool but it’s like a piece of artwork.

I wanted to create a realistic image.

No worries!

Let’s just change the image generation model. This time, I will use the same input but the Google Imagen 3.0. Fast model:

This time I got a much more realistic photo.

By the way, there are lots of these models. I think right now they have over 40 different models you can mess around with.

So if you didn’t get satisfying results from the earlier image generator tools or models, you can run through what Nightcafe offers.

Also, one thing that Nightcafe supports is the ability to use a base image. This means you can transform an existing image into another by describing what you want to add to it (An Image-to-Image generator.)

Although I think it doesn’t look like me anymore at all. But I think I used it wrong.

You can use the image-to-image feature to remove elements from images, add backgrounds to images, and a lot more. (The use case I just showed you is not optimal.)

Speaking of professional AI headshots, let’s move on to the next AI image generator category.

AI Headshot Generators

Did you know you can use AI to generate professional images of yourself like this?

This looks like a perfect clone of myself but in a way better clothing and lighting.

Here are the tools that can do this for you!

1. BetterPic AI

Try here

BetterPic is the best professional AI headshot generator on the market.

It takes your selfies and images and turns those into up to 200+ professional and customizable headshots. I use AI-generated headshots like this on my YouTube videos, LinkedIn, and WhatsApp.

To use BetterPic, head over to their website.

Then click “Get your headshots now.”

Then it asks you to upload a bunch of images of yourself. These don’t need to be professional images. Just make sure they’re in different lighting and clothing to get the best results.

Here are some images that I’m going to use:

After you’ve uploaded your images, you need to wait for about 30–60 minutes.

Once the image generation process is completed, you will receive an email.

For example, here are my AI-generated images:

These look incredibly close to what I look.

There’s not much difference and to all friends and family members I showed these, nobody believed it’s AI.

One drawback with these tools is that there are some artifacts. For example, the eyes might have a blank stare and the teeth can be off by quite a bit.

That’s why there are also editing features in BetterPic AI:

With this one, you can remove the background, change it, change the pose, and most importantly request a manual edit from the BetterPic team!

This is cool if there’s an image you like particularly much but that’s somehow off by a bit.

What a legendary tool! Before I started to try these AI headshot generators, I didn’t know they were this good. Not even close!

2. The Multiverse AI

Another epic AI headshot generator is called The Multiverse AI.

Very similar to BetterPic, this tool asks you to upload 12–20 images of yourself. Then it generates custom AI headshots for you.

But on top of this, it also allows you to customize your headshots with text inputs like “Me standing in Paris.”

Then it uses AI to create images of yourself.

Here are the input images I used (again):

Here are the AI-generated headshots that The Multiverse AI just rendered:

These look fantastic to me. But it’s not much different than the BetterPic AI I showed earlier.

But here’s where it gets to a different level.

On top of using AI to create those basic headshots, you can customize them fully by describing the images you want to create.

For example, here I’m telling the AI to create an image of “Me wearing a white shirt and smiling.” Look at the results:

Isn’t that incredible?

Now, the only problem with this is that there are lots of artifacts. The teeth end up being messed up quite often. But that’s why I recommend creating a bunch of images—not just one or two.

Based on my experience, the AI headshots work out one or two times per 10 images if you look at it closely!

3. Dreamwave AI

As the last headshot image generator, I wanted to include DreamWave AI. This is no different from BetterPic or The Multiverse AI when it comes to image quality.

But this one has a free trial! (Although there’s a long line usually.)

Before you use it, read the instructions. It tells you what types of selfies and images you should/should not use for the best results.

Then just choose a plan. With the free one, you’ll likely have to wait for weeks due to high demand.

As you can see, the teeth are sometimes a complete mess. That’s why you have those editing features in place. These typically fix your images nicely:

You can essentially create perfect clones of yourself using AI and use these on your dating profile, social media, and more.

Let’s move on to the next AI image generator category.

AI Photo Enhancers

Next up, we have AI-powered photo enhancers.

As the name suggests, these are image-to-image models that allow you to improve existing images.

For example, you can restore old photos, remove artifacts, and increase the image definition.

Let me show you a bunch of great tools for this.

1. Stockphotos Upscaler

Try free here

Stockphotos Upscaler is an AI image detail improver. If you have blurry or less sharp images, this is the place to go to fix those.

You can do the 2x improver for free and then you can use the 4x and 8x with the paid plans.

Using this tool couldn’t be simpler. Just head over to their website and drop an image (or images) to view:

Then after a couple of seconds, you’ll see an improved version of your image.

For example, here I’ve scaled up my blurry desert image:

Nothing too crazy, but clearly a better-looking shot, huh?

Here’s another attempt with an even less clear photo:

Once again, it didn’t completely fix the image—not even close. But it clearly added some definition and sharpness. This can be just enough if your images are nearly good or nearly perfect but need that final touch.

2. Palette.fm Colorizer

Another cool image enhancer tool is called Palette. This adds colors to your black-and-white images. You can use this tool to bring life to old photos.

Tip: Upscale your images with the previous tool and then add them to the Palette colorizer to restore them.

Using Palette is also easy. Just drag and drop an image into the view:

What a beauty this is—especially the last set of images! The right-hand one looks exactly like a colorized image should. It’s hard or impossible to tell that it didn’t have colors to begin with.

3. Canva

Try here

Canva is the best online design tool I’ve ever used. Although AI is just a small fraction of the entire toolset, I thought it’d be a wonderful addition to this list.

Remember the image upscaler and colorizer tools?

Well, Canva does both.

For example, here I’m colonizing the black-and-white image in the Canva editor:

Doesn’t it look amazing?

Also, Canva lets you “expand” your images. This means you can add the “rest of the background” that was left out in the photoshoot.

For example, here’s an (AI-generated) image of myself that I created earlier with The Multiverse AI. I like the image but it’s quite a narrow one. I’d like it to be a cover photo instead.

To do this, all I had to do is click “Magic Expand.” Here’s the result:

Isn’t that cool? The AI successfully added more background to the image without having any idea what it should be or what I looked like.

Perhaps the left shoulder looks a bit too broad… Other than that, it’s a cool feature to fix your images with.

These are just two common AI image enhancer features on Canva. There are at least 8 more features that are at least as useful as these ones.

But let’s move on to the next AI image generator category!

AI Background Removers

AI can also remove image backgrounds. This can be useful if you create posters or cards or something where the background doesn’t belong to.

1. Remove.BG

Try free here

Remove.BG is an AI background remover that’s free and super easy to use.

You don’t need to crop and smart lasso your image for hours. Instead, just drag and drop an image for the AI and wait for 5 seconds.

Here’s an image of myself that I want to remove the background from:

After 3 seconds, here’s the AI-generated result:

It’s as close to perfect as possible.

But this one was easy because the background is white.

If something is going on in the image, you can use the AI eraser feature to remove the background more accurately.

2. Canva

You can also find an epic background remover on Canva. There’s a separate tool you can use as a standalone. Then also, if you have a Canva plan, you can use this feature in your design editor.

For example, let’s remove the background from this image:

Pretty smooth I’d say. There’s almost no trace of the background even though there was quite a bit going on there.

Instead of spending hours trying to get rid of an image background, you can do it with AI in just seconds!

Let’s move on to the next AI tool category.

AI Face Swappers

Thanks to the image-to-image AI tools, these days you can do a face swap seamlessly.

You can transform yourself into a bodybuilder (or transform a bodybuilder to you) or whatever you might imagine.

Here are two tools you can do this with:

AIfaceswap.io is a free AI face swapper. Just head over to their website. Then choose the original image (that you want your face to go) and the face image (you.)

For example, here I’m replacing a bodybuilder’s face with mine:

Haha, that looks so funny but so real at the same time. The only sad thing is that it didn’t take my hair with me which would make it even more realistic.

2. Remaker AI

As another AI face swapper, we have Remaker AI.

This tool is a very similar online AI generator that takes two images and swaps the original image’s face with the target face.

Here’s an example of myself replacing my face with a model:

After a couple of seconds, here’s the result:

Hah! Once again I laughed out loud as I saw this. The only thing it fails is with my beard. It’s not that dark. But other than that, I can see myself in this image for sure.

Try both! They’re free. :)

AI Logo Generators

AI can also design logos!

Although you could do this with a tool like DALL-E 3 for inspiration, there are also tools that are dedicated to this. These will not only create a logo but also allow you to make edits and download it as a proper logo file.

Let me show you some.

1. Fiverr AI Logo Maker

Fiverr AI logo maker is a tool that takes your name, slogan, style, and industry as input and returns a set of professional logos.

Using this tool is simple. Just tell your brand name and slogan.

Then add some tags and elements (optional.)

Choose a style.

And slide the personality sliders to match your business.

After about 5 seconds, the AI renders a set of logos.

You can click on each logo and make slight tweaks if necessary.

To use these logos, you need a paid plan.

This gives you access to a proper logo file and all the color palettes and styles to keep it uniform in case of having to make edits or re-designs to it later.

2. Logo AI

Another cool AI logo maker is called LogoAI.

This tool does the exact same as Fiverr AI. Just enter your firm’s name and slogan and answer a couple of questions first.

For example, you can choose your brand color palette from the ones you like.

Then just wait for a second and you’ll see AI-generated logos.

On top of this, you can customize the ones you like the most before downloading.

To use a LogoAI logo, you need a paid plan as well!

Let’s move on to the next AI image generator category.

AI Color Palette Generators

These days you can use AI to choose a color scheme for your projects.

This is kind of an extra inclusion on the list because it’s not necessarily an AI image generator. But it’s close so I thought I’d add it in.

1. Colormagic

ColorMagic AI is as simple of an AI generator as it gets. Just head over to their website and click on “Create palette.”

Then describe your palette use case to let the AI know what colors you should be using.

For example, here’s what the AI suggested for me as a Campfire color scheme:

This is good for visual projects if you don’t have a professional visual eye for choosing colors.

With palettes like this, your color scheme looks nice and meets the eye and the colors don’t end up clashing against one another.

That’s why I highly recommend using AI for choosing the colors instead of choosing by hand.

2. Muzli

Another bit more advanced AI palette generator is the muz.li color palette generator.

Just tell your specific use case and let the AI take care of the rest. You can literally describe your project like you were talking to a human.

Isn’t that awesome? Instead of using amateurish colors in your projects, you can use these image generator colors that automatically meet the eye and resonate with one another.

Bonus: AI Data Visualizer—ChatGPT 4o

Last but not least, did you know you can use AI to create data visualizations, such as plots and graphs?

The best tool for doing this is the ChatGPT 4o (paid, unfortunately.)

You can tell it to create graphs, such as the normal distribution that I’m creating here:

If I had to do this from scratch with Python or Excel, it would take at least 10–20 minutes but now it was done in 10 seconds.

Also, that’s not it. ChatGPT 4o model lets you upload your files to it. It can then analyze those and create visualizations.

For example, here I’m telling ChatGPT to do my homework based on the Excel sheet full of Kangaroo Heights.

After 15 seconds, here’s a distribution chart image that it made.

Thanks, ChatGPT! Instead of doing homework for the rest of the weekend, I can go out with my mates and still get a good grade!

One thing that didn’t come so easily, though, is this post that you’re reading. I spent an entire day on it but now I finally think I’ve said everything.

But because AI is moving so fast, there are already so many tools to include so I didn’t want to leave anything out.
