1. Decktopus

Decktopus is an AI-powered tool that simplifies the process of creating presentations.

This AI tool saves your time and effort by auto-generating layouts, designs, and content, catering especially to those without a design background.

But does it work? Even though it has a sleek UI and a lot of promises, you can never know.

Let’s see how it performs in my hands. I tested it so you don’t have to!

Key Features

Real quick, let’s take a look at the core features before I show you the results I was able to get with it:

  • One-click design: Automatically generates presentation layouts and designs.
  • Image & Icon Finder: Find relevant visuals for your presentation.
  • Slide Notes Maker: Offers tailored slide notes to match your topic and audience.
  • Forms and Voice Recorder: Collects feedback and adds a personal touch with audio narration.

My Experience

Now, let me show you how to use it and what kinds of results you can expect.

Because it’s an AI slide generator, all you need to do is describe the presentation you want to generate. It will take you from there.

Here’s my input: “How to start programming from scratch”. With this input, I want to generate a slide deck that shows how to start coding from scratch.

Once you have entered your input, the tool asks you to sign up. This takes just a second. I used Google so I could continue with two clicks of a button.

Then it’s time to fill in your project goals so that the AI will get to know you better. I recommend filling these in as accurately as possible.

Then the AI asks you for the presentation details again. Hit “Let’s start” to continue with this:

Then the AI wants to learn about your audience. Just choose what best describes it to get the best results.

Lastly, let the AI know what your goal is for the presentation. This is just because the AI cannot read your thoughts, so this way it’s making sure you’re most satisfied with the end product.

Oh, and one more thing.

Choose the design that meets your eye the most. I went with the minimal design because that’s what I think makes presentations shine—not too many colors or design elements. Just some images and content!

After you’ve answered the questions, it’s time to let the AI generate the slideshow. For me, this took about 30–45 seconds, so you need to patiently wait for a second!

After the AI is finished, here’s what the slideshow looks like.

What I like about the tool is how easy controls it gives you. Some other presentation tools gave a lot more to work with, but that also meant a longer learning curve. With this one, there are only a couple of things you need to tweak!

For example, I wanted to change the image of the first slide to something more arbitrary. That’s where I used the Decktopus AI image generator feature:

This is the resulting image:

It doesn’t have to do with coding or computers, but at least it’s creative and offers me something else.

Now, one thing I love about the tool is how easy it is to change the design. You can just select the “Design” tab from the right and choose one that meets your eye. Then in just 2–3 seconds, the entire deck has been re-shuffled and looks different (with the same text elements, of course.)

Here’s one design I liked a lot:

Now, when it comes to the presentation, the slideshow looks nice and professional. I could almost use it as-is. Also, most of the time, the text looks good too. For example, look at this slide:

But of course, it’s not perfect and I’d need to do some heavy tweaks on some parts of it.

For instance, this slide right here has a bit too much jargon to my liking:

I would probably have to rephrase the entire thing to make it easier and beginner-friendly.

Nonetheless, I was really happy with this result. In just a minute, I had this unique and nice-looking presentation slideshow. By tweaking the text on it, I could easily present this to beginner coders.

Pros

  • Awesome customer support: They answered my question right away. Don’t know if it was AI or a human, but it knew for sure the answer!
  • User-friendly: Easy to use, even for beginners. Just describe the slideshow and you’ll see awesome results.
  • Versatile: Suitable for various professionals and use cases.

Cons

  • Limited Customization: This may not satisfy those looking for highly specific design tweaks. On the other hand, this makes the learning curve a lot more shallow.
  • Dependency on AI: The quality of auto-generated content can vary. Sometimes the text in the decks is a bit too generic. But with slight tweaks, it’s all good!

Pricing

  • ProAI: $9.99/mo
  • BusinessAI: $36.99/mo

Try Decktopus for Free

Bottomline

Decktopus is a handy tool for creating presentations quickly without much hassle.

It’s great for those looking for efficiency and ease of use, though it may have limitations for users seeking deep customization options.

I highly recommend giving it a shot. With just 2 minutes of work and slight tweaks, I was able to generate a comprehensive yet simple presentation for code beginners.

This tool is easy to use. Just tell the AI what type of slideshow you want to create and it will get the job done.

But does it actually work?

Let me show you how it performs and how to use it.

Try Plus AI for Free

Key Features

Let’s take a sneak peek at the features of this product.

  • Google Slides AI. This AI creates Google Docs and Google Slideshows from scratch. Just describe what you want to see and the AI will get the job done.
  • Templates. There are lots of built-in use cases and templates to choose from. This helps you make the presentations look the way you want them to.
  • AI editing. You can use this tool to edit existing slideshows (as well as the AI-generated ones.)

My Experience

Let me share my experience with the tool.

To follow along, make sure to sign up.

This tool is simple to use. Just install an extension to your Google Slides and sign in.

Then you can start creating. You can create either from complete scratch or by dropping a file.

The cool part about this product is that it works in Google Slides directly. You don’t need to hop between windows.

Once you’ve opened up your Slides, select:

Extensions > Plus AI for Google Slides and Docs > New Presentation with Plus AI

Here’s an image of what I mean:

This opens the Plus AI slideshow creator AI:

Then just specify what kind of a presentation you want the AI to create.

My presentation is about coding for beginners:

Then just generate the outline by clicking “Generate Outline:”

This takes a second.

When the AI completes this step, check that the outline makes sense:

Once you’re happy with the outline, click “Generate Slides.”

This takes a while again. But once it completes, you have a ready-made presentation with text, templates, and images:

Pretty cool, huh?

From this point on, you can either use Google Slides to edit the slideshow or you can use the Plus AI editor.

The Plus AI editor has a bunch of useful features, such as rewrite and remixer. It can also translate your slideshow.

To edit your slides with Plus AI, click “Extensions > Plus AI for Google Slides and Docs > Edit with Plus AI:

For example, take a look at this slide:

It has a lot of text boxes, but how about we add an image to it?

You can do this with Plus AI by:

  1. Clicking “Remix.”
  2. Choosing an image layout.
  3. Clicking “Remix Current Slide.”

After this, you have a slide with an AI-automated image:

Also, don’t forget you can turn your slideshow to any language you want to.

For example, let’s turn it into Spanish:

This again takes just a couple of seconds for the AI to fulfill.

Isn’t that cool?

Plus AI does everything you ever need for a slideshow. It just does it 10 times quicker than by hand.

3. Tome App

Tome is a sleek AI presentation tool designed to help you create polished presentations and documents quickly. It’s all about turning your ideas into compelling presentations with minimal fuss.

Let’s see how it plays out!

Key Features

  • AI Assistance: Offers AI-driven outlines and content suggestions.
  • Responsive Design: Ensures presentations look great on any device.
  • Easy Sharing: Share via link for viewing on any platform.
  • Slides from Input: Just describe your slideshow and let the AI create one for you!

My Experience

The first thing to do in Tome is to sign up. Once again, I used Google sign up for this one to save clicks and time.

Then, you need to create a profile!

After the profile creation process, it’s time to describe your work. This way you let the AI know you a bit better.

Before you can start creating, you also need a workspace. I just called mine “Testing” but you can be more descriptive if you’re doing this for professional work or as something you want to return to later on.

Then you get to choose the default theme you want in your slides. I took the “Ocean” option as I think it looks fine to my eye.

Then it’s finally time to start generating with AI. Here you’re going to see a bunch of ready-made templates you can use for your slides. Thus far it’s all pretty “regular” and no AI involvement yet. But then you can click the “Generate with AI” button to let the magic happen.

The idea is simple. Just describe your slideshow to the AI and let it get you from there.

For example, I used the AI to generate a slideshow on how to learn programming from scratch:

Then it showed me the structure of the slideshow and asked me to agree or disagree with it. As I think it looks fine, I don’t want to regenerate or remove anything. I just went with it to see what happens.

After agreeing with the AI on the structure, the AI started working on the slideshow. This part took about 30–60 seconds.

After it was done, here’s a slide of the presentation:

Just wow! I like the structure and colors. Also, the text isn’t bad either—although a bit generic and I need to do some tweaks on it for sure.

The cool thing about this product is that it allows you to do quite comprehensive edits on the slides.

For example, here on the second slide, there’s a lot of text in those different boxes. Well, if I don’t like the order, I can just drag and drop them around or delete those (and edit the text, of course).

Then you can also add images to the slideshow if you need to. Usually, that’s a good idea for more engaging content.

To add an image, you can use the image icon from the right-hand sidebar:

The cool thing about this is that, obviously, you can generate the images with AI too. So you don’t need to pay for stock footage or hire a photographer if decent results are ok for you!

But… To be brutally honest, this image I just generated doesn’t look too appealing, does it?

I mean yeah, it’s a computer. But it’s something that the AI could do already a couple of years ago. These days AI-images should look much better.

Other than the AI images I generated, the tool works pretty incredibly.

The only thing I don’t like is what’s the usual problem with AI: The text is very generic.

Pros

  • Speedy Creation: Quickly turns prompts into presentations. Just write what you want to see and let the AI do its magic.
  • Versatility: Suitable for various professionals, from marketers to educators. There are lots of templates and designs to choose from.
  • Engagement: Interactive features make presentations more engaging. Also, you can freely edit the presentations to your liking, which is epic!

Cons

  • Generic Text: The AI produces some generic text and images that you might want to tweak and not use.
  • Pricey: Although you can test the tool for free, the paid version is a lot pricier than other similar tools on the market.

Pricing

Tome Pro:

  • $16/mo (bill annually)
  • $20/mo (bill monthly)

Bottomline

Tome is a powerful tool for creating dynamic, interactive presentations with AI in just a minute or two. The editing features, image generating capabilities, and ready-made templates make the platform epic.

Make sure to give it a try—it’s free!

4. Gamma

Gamma is an innovative tool designed to transform the way you create presentations, web pages, and documents.

It uses AI to simplify content creation, focusing on engagement and efficiency.

But let’s see if it’s doing what it promises.

Key Features

Let’s take a sneak peek at the key features of the product.

  • AI-generated content for a quick creation.
  • One-click templates for polished presentations.
  • Interactive elements like GIFs, videos, and charts.
  • Easy sharing with built-in analytics.

My Experience

And then, let’s take a closer look at the performance. I tested the tool so that you don’t have to.

Next, I will show you how to use the tool and analyze the results.

You can try Gamma for free. Just sign up from their homepage.

I just used Googel to speed the process up a bit.

Once you’ve signed up, it’s time to create a workspace. My workspace is lame “testai” but you can use a more accurate name.

Then the AI also wants to know about yourself.

I recommend being specific so that the team and the AI is able to get the best results done now and in the future.

Then, finally, it’s time to start creating presentations! This is the cool part: Just tell the AI what you want to see and it will get it done for you.

For example, I wanted to use the tool to create a presentation of how to become a programmer:

After I clicked “Generate outline”, the tool spit out a structure for the slideshow. At this point, I could either reject it, re-generate, or make some manual tweaks.

I just pressed “Continue” as I was really happy with the outline. Then the AI started to put the presentation together.

After about 30 seconds, the AI finished the job and here’s a sneak peek to the presentation that it just generated:

To give you a better idea, here’s one example slide that it generated. As you can tell, it looks quite professional, and also relates nice to the coding theme as it has code lines in the images.

This tool also offers a variety of editing capabilities. All you really need to do is click on an element in the slideshow and tweak it as you like. You can move it around, change the text, colors, and whatnot.

Then, you can also choose another theme for your designs. For example, for some reason I love the Soft Coal design. It looks hype! So I gave it a try.

Now, here’s the Soft Coal version of the slideshow.

I think this looks quite amazing. Of course, the text and the image elements are sometimes a bit questionable as to whether they make it look too complex (I like clear and minimal designs). But nonetheless, with slight tweaks, this presentation is fly!

Oh and one more thing, there are lots of customization options in the right-hand toolbar on the tool. For example, you can use AI to generate images, you can create folders, add videos, and more.

I think this is the most comprehensive tool that I used so far.

The thing I loved the most was the designs of the presentations.

The AI-generated text wasn’t always crazy good, but with small adjustments, it will do.

Pros

  • Fast and easy to use. You can generate a unique presentation with unique text from a simple text command in just seconds.
  • There are lots of cool designs you can apply in seconds to create another presentation.
  • The AI can generate images and text in no time.
  • The tool has a lot of editing options, so it’s not just a static AI-generated presentation.

Cons

  • The AI sometimes messes up the text. It requires tweaks to make it sound more authentic and unique.
  • The UI has a lot of elements. If you’re looking for a quick solution, the somewhat complex UI can confuse you. But again, this is just an opinion, as it also means that with a bit of extra work you can get awesome things done!

Pricing

  • Free: $0/mo
  • Plus: $8/mo
  • Pro: $15/mo

Bottomline

Gamma AI presentation maker is good for those looking to produce engaging presentations in no time.

The tool just asks you what kind of a presentation you want to see and it will take you from there.

Also, because AI is not perfect, the tool allows you to do edits in a quite comprehensive manner.

And as it’s free to use, I highly recommend giving it a shot!

5. WePik Presentation Maker

WePik is a user-friendly AI Presentation Maker that simplifies creating impressive slides.

Instead of creating a presentation from scratch or from a generic template, you can use AI to generate one in seconds. Just describe what you want to see and the AI will do it for you!

Let’s see how the tool works and what kinds of results it actually produces!

Key Features

Here are the key features of the product:

  • AI-generated content and slides.
  • Customizable templates with editing tools.
  • Integration with Freepik and Flaticon libraries.
  • Option to directly integrate with any existing brand kit.
  • All sorts of design tools (that I’m not reviewing separately in this post)

My Experience

Now, let’s take a look at the performance of the tool.

One thing I notice immediately is that WePik is not just an AI presentation maker. It also has all kinds of other products. I kind of like it, but the problem with these types of multi-product sites is that there are lots of tools and users, but none of the tools perform…

But that’s just my observation and I’m not saying WePik falls into this category before trying it. So let’s give it a shot!

To start creating a presentation, just click the “Get started” button on the frontpage.

Then it’s time to give it a topic.

I went with the same one I’ve used already many times in this guide. That is, I want to create a presentation on how to start programming from scratch.

Then the tool asks me to sign up. So there’s still no tool that would allow to create without signing up! But that makes sense—after all, I want to save my work to my account, right?

Once I signed up, the AI wanted to learn what I want to use the tool for.

And then it happened. The tool crashed…! Doesn’t look promising.

But then I clicked the “Try again” button and refreshed the page to see if that would help. And that did the trick!

After about a minute, the AI generated me this presentation:

But here the quality clearly isn’t there. I mean it’s a simple presentation and it has a lot of images. But this one is like a 3/5 version compared to the other tools on this list.

It’s good, but not impressive!

Anyways, you can do some useful and cool edits on it. For example, I can remove the background from the image you see above:

And then what’s really cool is the elements library from which you can add a ton of ready-made visual elements into your slideshow.

Lastly, you can also change the presentation theme or regenerate the whole thing in just one click.

For example, here’s my second version of the presentation:

Then I also noticed that you can use the color wheel to colorize elements the way you like. The best part is that this tool works “globally”. In other words, the coloring affects all the elements in all the slides. This is handy!

And then you can also add these ready-made templates to your presentation. For example, here I’ve added one into the mix.

Sadly, these new templates don’t preserve the text in the presentation. So this makes it a bit useless, because I essentially have to then copy-paste the text to these presentation slides—which is no different to what I can do on a traditional non-AI editor.

Anyways, some of the features in this tool are really good. There are lots of edits and tweaks you can do. But then again, the tool produced a very basic and perhaps a bit outdated looks to the designs—with very generic text and images.

Pros

  • Quick and easy presentation creation. The tool just asks you what to create and it will get the job done.
  • Wide range of customization options. You can choose templates, change colors, and much more.
  • Lots of other features on the platform—not just an AI presentation maker!
  • The tool is free to use!

Cons

  • The text is generic and needs changes
  • The images are basic stock footage and looks basic/generic
  • Templates don’t preserve the text from the AI-generated slideshow

Pricing

Free!

Bottomline

Although I think WePik designer isn’t the best one on the market, it’s certainly doing its job. The tool can generate a decent (and a bit generic/boring) presentation that you can edit to meet the demand.

But the tool is entirely free to use, so why not give it a shot?

6. StoryDoc

Storydoc offers a platform to create interactive, engaging presentations designed to stand out, bringing stories to life to win more customers.

This tool is more business-focused than the other tools on this list and is thus great for pitch decks. It takes your own website or business and automatically makes the presentation match your brand’s theme and colors.

Let’s see how it works!

Key Features

  • AI-driven design for a quick creation.
  • Editable templates with automatic design adjustments.
  • Integrations with CRMs, calendars, and more for actionable documents.
  • Real-time analytics to track engagement.
  • Matches your brand colors and theme automatically

My Experience

Let’s give it a try!

To start creating, just head over to the homepage, and click “Make my presentation”.

Then choose a presentation type.

In this post, I’ve used the “How to learn programming” topic, and I want to do the same here as well.

But then the tool didn’t ask for the topic but my brand name instead. It wanted a website, so it was not enough to just enter my brand’s name.

Even though I wasn’t able to tell what I want the slideshow to be about, I can also see that the tool fetched data from my website and is clearly trying to make the slideshow look like my website, which is great, because then it will match my brand!

Then before returning the slideshow, the tool asked me for my industry.

It also wanted to know a more detailed description of my sub-industry:

And then it asked me to use a template I like the most.

Now, this is super cool! All the templates already show my website’s logo and colors. So this was a cool surprize. It really used the data from my business website already to create these:

Then it’s time to sign up before seeing the resutls.

And here’s the result:

Wow! This is epic. It’s using the logo and the fonts from my website. This looks like something I could have used for pitching my idea to someone in the past.

But the only downside is that the tool never asked for the topic. So this design is not about “How to learn coding” as I wished it was. But nonetheless, it’s a great template I can use.

The editing capabilities are nice. You can tweak and move every element in the presentation.

But as I stated earlier, this is more of a generic AI-powered template that incorporates your website’s design to the slides.

But at least in my hands, I wasn’t able to generate a slideshow for a particular topic.

So you can generate a slideshow for example to pitch a startup. But you cannot tell the AI what your startup is about (which is what you could do with other tools on this list).

So this is more of an advanced AI template that you then need to heavily tweak.

I’m not saying it’s bad. In fact, I really loved this tool. It just requires a bit more work to get the slideshow ready, as you need to create the input and structure it to meet the final format.

Pros

  • Simplifies presentation creation with AI assistance. Just enter your website and you will get an on-brand presentation template for different use cases.
  • Lots of great templates to choose from.
  • Super easy to use. Just asks the use cases and creates a template based on that.

Cons

  • Doesn’t create a structure and text for your presentation. Instead, it focuses on creating a template you can edit.
  • Somewhat limited editing capabilities.

Pricing

  • Starter: $30/mo
  • Pro: $45/mo
  • Team: Contact support

Bottomline

Storydoc is a compelling choice for those looking to create presentations for business use, such as pitch decks.

The tool creates a template that’s on brand with your website, so you don’t have to tweak colors, logos, and fonts for hours. This saves a lot of time.

Although this tool doesn’t generate the outline or text with AI. That’s what you still need to do manually.

Anyways, an impressive and easy-to-use AI tool, for sure. It’s free so make sure to try!

7. Simplified

Simplified’s AI Presentation Maker is a tool designed for easy creation of engaging presentations, using AI to streamline the design process.

This one is also a tool that has a lot of other features than just the presentation maker. For now, I will just review the presentation maker, though.

Let’s try it!

Key Features

  • AI-Driven Content Generation: Simplifies content creation.
  • Customizable Templates: Offers a wide range of design options.
  • Design Integration: Access to high-quality images and design elements.

My Experience

Here’s my experience with the tool.

This tool is not just an AI presentation maker. The tool has a ton of other tools. This always raises my eyebrows, because most of the time a startup with 10 products means that none of them is really that good.

To start, you just need to describe what you want to see in the presentation. I went with the “How to learn programming from scratch”.

Before you see the results, the tool also asks you to sign up like all the other tools on this list.

Then it asks for some input. Here’s the input you already gave, plus you can give some additional guidance with advanced settings and for example resize your show.

Then, here’s the template library you can select a theme from. There are lots of good-looking templates!

After this steps, the AI started to create the presentation:

But then, to my disappointment… The tool crashed to an internal server error…

Pros

  • Looks nice. The UI looks cool and sleek. Sad that it didn’t work, though…
  • AI features. There are lots of other AI features in Simplified you can experiment with.
  • Perhaps give it a try if the team would have fixed it!

Cons

  • Did not work! The app wasn’t working and just crashed due to an internal server error. This is what happens with a lot of software that has 100s of products and the main focus is on none of those…

Pricing

  • Pro: $9/mo
  • Business: $18/mo

Bottomline

The tool looks promising. There are also other AI features. But sadly, the tool did not work at all for me.

If you want, you can give it a try. Perhaps it works now! It’s still free and looks like a good product. But when I tested it, the presentation never showed up.
