Did you know you can use AI to improve video quality, restore old videos, remove artifacts, and more?

This is a comprehensive review of the best AI video upscaler tools. There are 100% free as well as paid options out there. I’ve extensively tested each tool on the list.

Here are the top picks for your convenience:

1. VideoProc

2. Winxvideo AI

3. Tensorpix

Also, here’s an updated video about the topic I just published:

Now, let’s jump into the detailed reviews.

Disclaimer: This post has affiliate links at no cost to you. I might earn a small commission from some of the links below.

1. VideoProc

VideoProc Converter AI is a versatile and powerful AI video upscaling tool that offers a range of features for video enthusiasts, vloggers, and professionals.

This is inarguably the best tool for upscaling videos on the entire internet!

Let’s see how it works and what it does.

Key Features

  1. AI Super Resolution: VideoProc Converter AI uses advanced AI algorithms to upscale low-resolution videos to higher resolutions like 4K or 8K, enhancing detail and texture without introducing artifacts.
  2. AI Frame Interpolation: This feature creates smoother videos by increasing frames per second, making it ideal for creating slow-motion effects or improving the fluidity of the footage.
  3. AI Video Stabilization: It offers stabilization features to reduce camera shake and motion distortion, particularly useful for handheld videos.
  4. Support for a Wide Range of Formats: The software supports over 370 input formats and over 420 output formats, making it highly versatile for different video editing needs.
  5. Full GPU Acceleration: VideoProc Converter AI leverages Level-3 GPU acceleration for faster video processing and encoding.

My Take

I think VideoProc is just awesome. It takes video upscaling to a completely different level.

To access it, you need to download it first.

There’s a free trial version you can try before.

Then just run the setup wizard and start upscaling your videos.

Here’s a screenshot of a video that VideoProc upscaled:

As you can see, if we zoom in on the penguin, on a traditional video, the quality is completely lost.

Here’s the video as a GIF:

This tool is not just for video upscaling. You can do all sorts of enhancements.

For example, if you have a video that has a low FPS (such as a slow-motion video), you can use VideoProc to “fill” in the missing frames to make the video look smooth and continuous.

For example, here’s an example video of before and after using VideoProc to fill in missing frames:

And on top of all of this, you can also use AI to stabilize your footage.

For example, here’s a video of a cyclist riding in the forest. The video looks messy and unclear… Until VideoProc makes it smooth again:

By the way, a GIF format doesn’t do it full justice. It looks even more impressive on a real video instead of a GIF like above.

Nonetheless, this showcases the power of VideoProc. If you’re serious about video enhancing, you must give it a shot. The best part is that there’s a free trial that’s super easy to activate and use.

From this point on in this post, I won’t show GIFs because those slow the post down significantly. Instead, I will show screenshots that I’ve taken from videos. Hope that’s fine. :)

Pros

  1. High-Quality Upscaling: The AI-powered upscaling maintains high visual fidelity and detail. It makes videos look much less blurry and the tool does it better than any online converters.
  2. Ease of Use: The interface is intuitive and user-friendly, suitable even for beginners. Just a couple of clicks and you’re good to go.
  3. Versatility: It’s suitable for various users, including hobbyists, vloggers, and professionals. You can stabilize, interpolate, and upscale videos to make them look smoother and better.
  4. Comprehensive Editing Tools: Includes features like cutting, merging, cropping, and adding effects to videos.

Cons

  1. Limited AI Features on Mac: The AI features are currently only available on Windows, with the Mac version still in development.
  2. Cost: While offering a free trial, the full version comes at a cost, which might be a consideration for budget-conscious users.

Pricing

  1. Premium 365: $25.95/year for 3 Macs. Features include full GPU acceleration, optimal for 4K, HDR footage, 47x faster processing, AI features coming soon, and a 30-day money-back guarantee.
  2. Lifetime License: $45.95 for 1 Mac. Offers lifetime access, compatibility with the latest GPUs, high-quality conversion, and upcoming AI features. Includes a 30-day money-back guarantee.
  3. Family License: $57.95 for up to 5 Macs. It includes everything from the Lifetime License, suitable for families or small teams, with lifetime access and a 30-day money-back guarantee.

You can see all the prices for Windows and Mac separately by checking the pricing page.

Bottom Line

VideoProc Converter AI uses AI to improve your video quality in seconds.

Just upload your video and wait.

While it’s a budget-friendly option, it’s restricted to Windows only (at the time of writing.)

If you’re not a Windows user, keep on reading!

2. Winxvideo AI

Winxvideo AI is another powerful AI-powered video upscaler and enhancer.

With the built-in Super Resolution feature, we can upscale low-resolution and low-quality videos, such as home movies captured with early smartphones and cameras and highly compressed videos we downloaded online, to HD and 4K UHD.

Furthermore, it’s not just an AI video upscaling software; it offers more than you might expect. Check out the key features below.

Key features:

  • AI-powered upscaling: Powered by advanced AI models, Winxvideo AI can upscale videos and images by 2x, 3x, or 4x, up to 4K (for videos) and 10K (for images). Additionally, it can enhance existing video quality without changing the resolution.
  • Sharpen blurry footage: Eliminate blurriness caused by camera shake or low-light conditions.
  • Reduce noise: Denoise videos for a cleaner, more polished look.
  • Combat compression artifacts: Restore details lost from heavy compression.
  • Smoother videos with AI-powered frame interpolation: Increase video frame rates by up to 5x (480fps) for a smoother viewing experience. This is perfect for creating slow-motion effects as well.
  • Video stabilization: Winxvideo AI effectively stabilizes videos captured handheld, with GoPros or drones, or in low-light conditions.
  • Format conversion and editing: It can convert video and audio formats for wider compatibility across devices. Winxvideo AI also includes a video compressor and basic editing tools.
  • Screen and webcam recording: Capture your screen activity, webcam footage, or both simultaneously. Annotate your recordings with drawing tools and even replace your webcam background for a more professional look.
  • GPU acceleration support: Leverage the power of your graphics card (GPU) for faster video processing, significantly reducing waiting times.

My Experience with Winxvideo AI

Winxvideo AI is a desktop application. So, to upscale videos with Winxvideo AI, you need to download and install it first.

The setup file is lightweight, clocking in at just 146MB. Installing was a breeze — I clicked the executable (“.exe” file) and finished the process in under a minute, with no unwanted extras bundled in.

Launching the program revealed a clean and intuitive main interface.

First, I selected “Video AI”. A quick start guide is displayed on the window, guiding me through the process. Following the instructions, I clicked “Add Video” to load the video I wanted to upscale.

I loaded a 640x360 video, then enabled “Super Resolution” and set the scaling factor to 2x. The preview instantly reflected the improvement, with the resolution jumping to 1280x720 and a noticeable clarity boost.

Here’s the original video (a screenshot of it):

And here’s the upscaled video:

Next, I moved to “Export Settings” where I could customize video and audio codecs, quality level, and GOP settings.

Finally, I clicked the “RUN” button to export the upscaled video. The entire process was efficient and user-friendly.

Pros

  • Easy to use: This video enhancer has a user-friendly interface, making it simple to navigate and use even for beginners.
  • Supports various video formats: Winxvideo AI supports a wide range of video formats, including AVI, MP4, MOV, WMV, FLV, and more.
  • Offers multiple upscale options: Users can choose from different upscale factors, such as 2x, 3x, and 4x, to achieve the desired level of enhancement.
  • Excellent output results: The software delivers impressive output quality, resulting in sharper and clearer videos.
  • Batch processing supported: Winxvideo AI allows users to process multiple videos simultaneously, saving time and effort.
  • Works well with both real-life and anime videos: The software can effectively enhance both reality and anime videos, providing noticeable improvements in both cases.
  • Deinterlacing support: Winxvideo AI offers deinterlacing functionality, which can be useful for improving the quality of interlaced videos.
  • Cost-effective: Winxvideo AI offers a wide range of features at a reasonable price, making it a good value for money.

Cons

  • The software is currently only available for Windows systems.
  • The free trial version has a 5-minute limit: The free trial version of Winxvideo AI limits users to processing only the first 5 minutes of each video.

Price & Deals

  • Year Subscription (3 PCs): $39.95
  • Lifetime License (1 PC): $69.95

For a limited time, you can get both a year subscription and a lifetime with special deals.

Bottom line

Winxvideo AI is an easy-to-use AI video upscaler that is particularly friendly to novice users. Users only need to load the video, select the magnification factor, and then output it. The operation is simple and the output quality is good.

Although it is not free, considering the variety of its functions, the price is reasonable. Make sure to give it a try!

3. Tensorpix AI

Try free

Tensorpix AI

TensorPix AI is a comprehensive online tool designed for enhancing and upscaling videos and images using advanced artificial intelligence technology.

I’d say it’s the best free tool out there at the moment.

You can use it to remove artifacts, restore old film, resize videos, and much more.

It takes a minute or two to do what most film professionals would work days on.

But does it work? Let’s find it out.

Features

  1. AI Filters: TensorPix allows users to select AI filters to enhance video quality.
  2. Ease of Use: The platform is designed to be user-friendly, enabling users to upload videos from any device and enhance them in a few simple steps.
  3. File Storage: With certain plans, enhanced files are never deleted from the system.
  4. Free Previews: Offers free previews of enhancements with varying lengths and resolutions based on the subscription plan.

My Experience with Tensorpix AI

The user experience is simple and easy to follow. Just sign up and try the tool.

The best part is that they give a limited free trial with which you can play.

Once you’ve signed up, you’ll see a dashboard like this.

Tensorpix AI video upscaler dashboard

To enhance a video, choose the “Video Enhancer” feature from the dashboard.

Also, if you’re on a free trial, you will notice that you only have 1.00 credits. That’s a small amount but you can upscale a bunch of videos with it still. :)

Tensorpix AI upscale

After you’ve chosen “upscale” and clicked enhance, you’ll need to wait.

For example, I had to wait about 3–5 minutes for a 5-second video to process! So it can take a while.

Video processing

After waiting, you will get an email about the completion of the process. This is convenient, for sure!

Now it’s time to take a look at my first upscale.

As you can tell, pretty much nothing changed. That’s just a screenshot of the video. But as far as I can tell, there are no improvements in the output video, sadly.

Then I realized “Upscale” is perhaps not the best option for a video like this.

So I tried a combination of other video upscaling features, namely the “Film Clean v2” and “Color Restore” features.

Multiple AI enhancer features

After waiting for a while, here’s the result (vs. the original):

Before after AI video upscaler

In the above screenshot, it doesn’t look too impressive. But when I watched the video, it looked a lot smoother.

Of course, you could still tell that the video is old and grainy.

But for example, the tool had successfully removed those random noise artifacts from the film.

This made the video look a bit better. Perhaps not as much as I had wanted to. But the reduction of artifacts was pretty impressive.

So I’d give it a solid 7/10 based on what I’d have expected in today’s day and age of AI.

Pros

  • Web-Based: No installation is needed, making it accessible from a web browser.
  • Simplicity: The process is straightforward, making it easy for users of all skill levels.
  • Flexibility: Offers both subscription plans and a pay-as-you-go option.
  • Rollover Credits: Credits from subscription plans roll over each month and don’t expire for 12 months.

Cons

  • Limited Free Plan: The free plan offers very basic features with limitations.
  • Limitations in Upscaling: The tool does a good job but there’s a lot to improve when it comes to improving the video quality.

Pricing

Tensorpix AI image pricing

TensorPix offers several pricing options:

  • Free Plan: €0/month with basic features.
  • Standard Plan: €11/month with 25 new credits per month and up to 3 AI filters per video.
  • Premium Plan: €25/month with 60 new credits per month and up to 4 AI filters per video.
  • Elite Plan: €61/month with 150 new credits per month and up to 5 AI filters per video.
  • Pay-as-you-go Option: Allows purchase of credits for a one-time fee, starting at €29 for 30 credits.

Bottom Line

TensorPix AI provides an easy and efficient way to enhance videos and images through its web-based platform.

This tool is just awesome — especially as it’s free to try.

The tool doesn’t just upscale videos, but it also has other enhancing features you can try.

4. AVCLabs AI Video Upscaler

AVCLabs AI video upscaler homepage

AVCLabs Video Enhancer AI is an AI-driven software designed for video quality enhancement and upscaling.

The tool has a broad suite of AI video-enhancing features. It can increase quality, improve smoothness, bring color, and focus videos.

Let’s take a closer look at how the AI video upscaler feature works.

Features

  1. AI Super-Resolution Algorithm: Enhances visual quality using advanced AI technologies, upscaling videos from SD to HD, HD to 4K, and even 4K to 8K.
  2. Frame-by-Frame Editing: Allows detailed editing and trimming of videos.
  3. Face Refinement: Utilizes AI to sharpen blurred faces and increase facial details, also offering face blur for anonymity.
  4. Natural Output Result: Ensures the videos retain a natural look without unnatural saturation or brightness.
  5. User-Friendly Interface: Simplifies video enhancement process, making it accessible for users without technical expertise.
  6. Supports Various Formats: Compatible with popular video formats including MP4, M4V, and MOV.

My Experience with AVCLabs

Unlike most AI video upscalers on this list, AVCLabs is a downloadable piece of software.

Download AVCLabs

If you want to try it, you need to download it for either Windows or Mac.

After you’ve installed the application, you can try it — for free.

Even though on the website it says you need to buy it, you can try it for free. But on the free version, it just places watermarks on the video.

I highly recommend trying it out, though.

You can get a realistic expectation for what the tool can produce before potentially buying the tool.

If you’re prompted to buy the software, just click “X”.

Skip buying the AI upscaler

Then just drag and drop a video to the AI enhancer and hit “Start Processing”.

Upscaler in action

I dropped the same 5-second video I use in every example on this post and here are the results (a screenshot of the video):

Before vs after upscaler

I think the right one (the AI-processed video) looks fantastic. Although you can still tell its quality is not the highest, it’s better than the other tools produced.

Let’s zoom in a bit to inspect parts of the video better:

Zoomed in before after upscaler

In this one the difference is clear. The right-most image looks a bit blurry but also a lot smoother than the original image (on the left).

This is impressive to me! Sadly, there’s the watermark.

But no worries, I have many almost as good tools that are free to try in this list.

Pros

  • High-quality video results with options to upscale to 4K/8K.
  • Intuitive UI requiring no prior video editing knowledge.
  • Automated process with little manual input needed.
  • Frame-by-frame analysis for precise video enhancement.
  • A trial version is available.

Cons

  • Requires a high-end dedicated graphics card and at least 4GB GPU memory.
  • Watermarks on videos in the free trial version.
  • Can be resource-intensive, demanding high computer hardware specifications.

Pricing

  • Monthly Subscription: $39.99
  • 1-Year Plan: $119.95
  • Lifetime Plan: $299

Bottom Line

Even though most AI-powered software lives on the web today, AVCLabs offers a powerful downloadable AI video upscaler.

Its versatile features make it in my opinion the best piece of software you can get your hands on right now.

Despite its high system requirements, its flexible pricing and intuitive interface make it an appealing choice for both professionals and casual users.

Make sure to try. It’s free!

5. CapCut AI Upscaler

Capcut AI image upscaler

CapCut’s free AI video upscaler is an online tool designed for enhancing video quality, particularly by upscaling videos to 4K resolution.

This tool is part of CapCut’s broader suite of video editing features and stands out for its ease of use and AI-driven capabilities.

Let’s see how it performs.

Notice that this is not a thorough review of CapCut. The tool has hundreds of other video-editing features, a lot of plans, guides, etc. Its upscaler is just one small feature in the vast ocean of editing capabilities.

Features

  • 4K Upscaling: CapCut can upscale videos to 4K resolution without losing quality, using advanced AI algorithms to enhance each frame by adding details and clarity.
  • Deblurring and Detail Enhancement: It effectively deblurs and adds original details to videos, improving overall quality.
  • Versatile Video Processing: The tool can process a variety of video formats and resolutions, making it suitable for different contexts and projects.
  • User-Friendly Interface: It offers a straightforward process of upscaling videos online, requiring just a few simple steps.

My Experience with CapCut

The video upscaler on CapCut is free and you can use it even without signing up.

Just drag and drop a video into the editor and enjoy.

CapCut AI video upscaler skip account creation

It prompts you to sign up, though. Just click “x” to skip this.

Upscale a video in CapCut

Then it takes a while to upscale the video. For me, this same 5-second clip took way less time than on Tensorpix, for example.

Here’s a screenshot of the result:

Before after comparison with capcut video enchancer

The upscaled version looks identical, but it has more pixels and looks smoother on a bigger display (which is hard to demonstrate in this small screenshot.) But it did some magic to the video.

I’d say this is a 9/10 considering it’s a free piece of software with no limitations (at the time of writing).

Now, let’s be real here. Even though I don’t usually use video editors, I’ve still heard of CapCut before. It’s not just an AI video upscaler. That part is just one small fraction of what the software does.

So if you’re interested in video editing besides just improving the resolution, you should sign up and start experimenting.

Pros

  • Quality Enhancement: CapCut excels at enhancing the resolution of your videos. Try different types of videos if you want to make it stand out the most!
  • Ease of Use: Its user interface is intuitive, making it accessible to users with varying levels of video editing experience.
  • Additional Editing Features: Beyond upscaling, users can edit their videos using CapCut’s multi-track video editor, adding effects, filters, text, and more.
  • Free Access: The tool is available online for free, making it accessible to a wide audience without any cost.

Cons

  • Limited Advanced Features: While excellent for editing, CapCut lacks advanced features found in professional video improving tools

Pricing

CapCut’s AI video upscaler is available for free.

There are no hidden costs or requirements for credit card information to access its basic upscaling functions.

Bottom Line

CapCut’s free AI video upscaler is awesome considering it is free.

The tool is great for individuals looking to enhance video quality, especially for upscaling to 4K.

This tool is useful for content creators and hobbyists who need a quick, easy, and free solution for improving video resolution and quality.

Also, CapCut is a wonderful video editor even without the AI features, so if you want to take your edits to the next level, make sure to try it!

6. Vmake AI Video Upscaler

Vmake video upscaler homepage

Vmake AI Video Enhancer is an advanced online tool designed to enhance the quality of videos and images.

It offers a range of features to improve the visual appearance of your content, making it a suitable choice for both personal and professional use.

But let’s see how it works and performs in my use.

Features

  1. AI Video Enhancer: Improves video quality, creating clear and high-definition footage.
  2. Video Background Remover: Allows for the removal of unwanted backgrounds from videos.
  3. Video Object Eraser: Enables users to erase unwanted objects seamlessly.
  4. Video Stabilizer: Helps eliminate shaky footage, ensuring smooth and stable videos.
  5. Video Ad Generator: Facilitates the creation of engaging video ads.
  6. AI Image Editor: Includes tools like AI Fashion Model, Image Background Changer, and Image Quality Enhancer.
  7. Image Uncrop and Object Remover: Restores lost details in images and removes unwanted elements.

My Experience with Vmake

Vmake is a web-based video enhancer tool. It’s super easy to use. Just open up the Vmake AI enhancer and drop a video there.

The processing starts and all you need to do is wait.

Vmake video enhancer in action

This one was one of the fastest upscalers I tried. It processed in just 20–30 seconds on the 5-second video I dropped there.

The only downside was that I couldn’t download the video without signing up.

Vmake video enhancer sign up page

Here’s the comparison between the AI output and the original version:

Before vs after in Vmake video upscaler

I’m not going to lie, on this small screen, it looks better after the AI processing.

But I also have to be honest. If we zoom it up, the video looks pretty terrible.

Let’s take a closer look. Here’s a screenshot of the video after the AI processing:

Zoomed in version of the Vmake video upscaler result

And here’s a screenshot of the original video:

Vmake original video

It’s really hard to tell which one looks better. The AI-processed one looks smoother, but it also looks more blurry and less detailed, which is strange. It should look more detailed if the upscaling worked.

You decide!

Also, remember that this is just one video type I’m experimenting with. The AI video upscalers can do wonders with some types of videos and then nothing with others.

That’s just the name of the game with the AI technology right now.

Pros

  • Ease of Use: Vmake offers a user-friendly interface, making it accessible for users of all skill levels.
  • High-Quality Results: Advanced AI algorithms ensure high-quality output in image and video enhancement.
  • Versatile Applications: Useful for various industries, including eCommerce and social media marketing.
  • Cost-Effective: Pay only for the specific tools used, making it a budget-friendly option.

Cons

  • Limited Pricing Information: The specific pricing structure for Vmake’s tools is not clearly stated on their website.
  • Sign-Up Requirement: Accessing Vmake’s tools requires users to sign up or log in.

Pricing

Vmake video pricing table
  • Freemium Model: Vmake operates on a freemium model, starting from $0.99 per month.
  • Pay-As-You-Go Option: Charges $0.60 per credit for non-subscription users.
  • Free Plan for Personal Use: Available with basic functionalities.

Bottom Line

Vmake is a great piece of software that allows video upscaling for free. The tool does a decent job of bringing quality to videos. But there are better alternatives on the market.

The pricing structure might be a bit confusing for a user who is accustomed to seeing monthly prices.

Nonetheless, it’s free to try, so why not give it a shot?

7. Media.io AI Video Upscaler

Media.io upscaler tool

Media.io AI Video Enhancer is recognized for its efficiency and versatility in multimedia file enhancement.

It has garnered positive feedback for its user-friendly interface and the array of services it offers, especially the video enhancer tool.

But let’s see what it does!

Features

  1. Video Converter: Converts video files into various formats with high accuracy and efficiency.
  2. Audio Converter: Converts audio files into multiple formats without subscription charges.
  3. Image Converter: Offers quick conversion of various image formats.
  4. Video Editor: Provides video editing tools like flipping, rotating, cropping, trimming, and adjusting videos.
  5. Video Compressor: Easily compresses video files in any format.
  6. Audio Compressor: Compresses audio files online without quality loss.
  7. Image Compressor: Efficiently compresses PNG/JPEG/JPG images.
  8. GIF Maker: Allows the creation of GIFs from pictures or videos.

That’s a whole bunch of features!

My Experience with Media.io

Similar to other AI video upscalers, Media.io doesn't seem to require a sign-up to enhance videos.

Just open the site and start upscaling by dropping a video into the UI.

Media.io upscaler drag and drop a video

There’s a “Process” button on the right bottom corner of the screen.

Notice that you can also do color correction, denoising, and smoothen the video besides upscaling.

But then, before you process, it prompts you to sign up.

Sign up to media.io upscaler

No problem, I’ve done it so that you don’t have to. :)

I noticed that the 4x upscaling is a paid feature. So let’s try the 2x version first to see how it performs. I don’t want to waste money before I know that the 2x upscaling works nicely.

Similar to the other tools on this list, it took a minute or two to upscale 5 seconds of video.

Processing bar in video upscaler

But that’s good! Here are the results (original vs result):

Original vs result in media.io upscaler

If you look at the video screenshots, it’s very hard to tell the difference.

Sadly, the rest of the AI enhancer features are behind a paywall. You’d need to pay at least $9/mo to try any of the other features. I doubt they’re that good because I wasn’t even able to give them a free shot.

Buy a plan prompt in media.io upscaler

Pros

  • Ease of Use: Its interface is user-friendly, making it accessible to a broad audience.
  • Versatility: Offers a wide range of multimedia processing tools.
  • Privacy-Focused: Automatically deletes uploaded files from servers after processing.
  • Quality Enhancement: Praised for resolution upgrading, noise reduction, and video stabilization.

Cons

  • Occasional Slow Processing: Processing times can vary depending on file size and internet speed.
  • Very Limited Free Trial. You can just upscale 2x videos, but not try any other enhancer features without paying a bunch.
  • Desire for More Advanced Editing Options: Some users have expressed a need for more sophisticated editing capabilities.

Pricing

Media.io provides various pricing plans:

  • Online 1-Month Plan: $9.95 per month, with the option to cancel anytime.
  • Online 1-Year Plan: Costs $2.95 per month.
  • Desktop (Lifetime Plan): Offers lifetime membership for $59.95, enabling offline use.

Bottom Line

Media.io is an efficient, user-friendly tool suitable for both personal and professional use.

But its free trial is not the best one out there. There are lots of supposed-to-be free features that you cannot try unless you subscribe to a paid $10/mo plan or so.

But if you want to experiment with the 2x upscaler, make sure to give it a shot for free! :)

8. Cutout.pro AI Video Upscaler

Cutout.pro video enhancer

Cutout.Pro offers an AI Video Enhancer as part of its suite of AI-driven visual design tools.

This platform is geared towards both individual and business use, providing a variety of features for enhancing photo and video quality.

They have also a lot of other features, such as image colonizers, and whatnot.

But let’s see if this tool works with videos!

Features

  1. Video Upscaling: It allows users to upscale videos to higher resolutions like 2K, with a maximum video resolution of 4K.
  2. Motion Interpolation & Deinterlacing: These features help in smoothing out motion in videos and converting interlaced video to progressive scan format.
  3. Shake Stabilization: Useful for reducing shakiness in footage, making it suitable for slow-motion effects.
  4. Noise and Motion Artifact Reduction: Enhances video quality by reducing noise and motion artifacts, making videos more defined and crisp.
  5. Extensive Use: Suitable for a variety of applications, from professional filmmaking to enhancing personal videos like family footage or special events.
  6. Supports Various Formats: The platform supports formats like .mp4, .webm, .mov, .gif with a maximum file size of 2GB.

My Experience with Cutout.pro

Using Cutout.pro AI video upscaler tool is super simple. Just open their website and drag and drop a video to their site.

Cutout.pro AI video enhancer in action

It takes a while to process the video. In my case, it took about 2 minutes for the video upscaler to upscale my 5-second video. If you have longer videos, prepare them to take significantly longer than 1–2 minutes!

Nonetheless, here’s the result compared to the initial one:

Original vs result in upscaler

Here it’s really hard to tell what changed. Especially because the videos are so small.

Unfortunately, I was also unable to download an HD preview. Also, what makes matters worse is that I was unable to even understand what it said, as it was all of a sudden in a different language.

Foreign language in cutout.pro

This tool didn’t work. So I have to leave it here. It was cool that I was able to use it for free. But I wasn’t able to get any results that I would truly be able to compare. Also, the UI was a bit laggy and confusing, even though it’s an easy-to-use tool.

Pros

  • Free Trial: This tool has a drag-and-drop video editor with which you can easily try the upscaling features.
  • API Integration: Offers the ability to integrate its capabilities into other applications.

Cons

  • Subscription Cost: While it has a free plan, more advanced features might come at a cost.
  • Learning Curve: Some users may find a learning curve when starting with the platform.
  • Credit System: The use of credits for tasks might be complex for some users.
  • Limited Free Credits: The free plan comes with limited credits.

Pricing

Cutout.pro pricing
  • Free Plan: Offers basic functionality with limited credits.
  • Subscription Plan: Costs $5.00 per month, providing 40 credits.
  • Pay-As-You-Go Options: Also available for users preferring not to subscribe.

Bottom Line

I wasn’t able to make this tool work. I had a hard time seeing any difference between the videos and I also wasn’t able to download.

I recommend trying something else from this list.
