There have been various positive steps taken by the Tambaram Municipal Corporation which have developed the civic infrastructure of the area such as bus stands, public toilets and restrooms etc which are attracting large numbers of home buyers to the area. Add to that that fact that it is only about 27 kilometres from the heart of Chennai city, and you have a win-win situation. It has perhaps the busiest railway station of the Chennai Suburban railway Network and thus is extremely well connected to all areas of the southernmost metropolis. It has seen a large number of investments from Non resident Indians (NRIs) and software professionals in recent times.
