Curios case of praying at other ‘Religious’ locations

I usually tune into NPR when driving by myself. Today I drove from work to home, just about 5–7 minutes, and was totally confused by a discussion that was going on.

When I tuned in the anchor was asking someone about his experience of praying at other ‘Religious’ location. The other person was explaining his experiences as he frequently prays at a different religious location. I thought perhaps his parents are of different religion — like one Christian, the other is Jew or Muslim or Buddhist or Hindu … like and like; or he was just curious to know about the different religions. I was totally wrong!

Few minutes into the discussion I realized that he is an Evangelical (or Angelical) and goes to a Pentecost Parish as there aren’t any of his churches nearby his home. He was complaining how they sound more like Protestant and how it was different from what he expected or experienced so far. I was totally confused by then and jumped couple of signals… Aren’t they all Christians? My understanding to this day was — Protestants, Catholics, Angelical, Pentecost are some denomination of Christianity… Silly me, apparently they consider each other different religion! In my view the number of religions that I know has almost doubled in those few minutes… Jesus (whichever religion you are) save the world ;)
