Navy Day in India is celebrated to commemorate Operation Trident, and in reverence to those who were martyred in the war which was conducted by India Navy.
On 4 December 1971 Indian Navy attacked on the Karachi harbor during the Indo-Pakistan war by the Indian Naval Missile boats. No Indian sailors were killed in that attack.
