Obviously made by the human hand. Lots of textures present, imperfection of traditional illustration… intentionally amateur in the hand-drawn type zone.
Drawings range from simple to complex in detail. Either represent a select poet (not shown in these examples), ostensibly reference themes in a poet’s work (hammer, hand, gun) or lean more towards abstract forms, probably to capture the feeling of a poet’s work.
Midcentury aesthetics. Color blocks, deliciously dated fonts. Lots of primaries. Everything is on an off-white background.
Mediums in use look like ink, charcoal or graphite, colored pencil, cut-n’-paste paper collaging.

Note to self: The typewriter is super cliché. Literally was a concept for one of my Poets Aloud drafts. Stay away!
Render these with reds & blacks. IPF branding colors. Perfectly in line with my own sensibilities, funnily enough…
Working off midcentury motifs — these could be realized in a Saul Bass-ish way
Interaction between text and image. Ex: Dates & times on coat pockets
International Poetry Forum branding would be integrated — logos, fonts, could be easily added
