HOW THE GREEKS STILL RULE THE WORLD FROM THE GRAVE

The Greeks were the first civilization who documented systematic studies/research on human behavior and human control, during their times they were called intellectuals. This occurred during the Hellenistic period of humanity where reason became god. The Greeks reasoned everything and gave thought to everything which is another form of humanism. The Greeks were thinkers and thinkers will always rule doers. The Greeks were the first to produce different materials on human behavior, in fact their materials which they recorded and stored in their libraries was later absorbed by the Romans when Rome invaded Greece. The Greeks were the first to develop the concept of “citizen”, and surprisingly the Greek word for citizen is the word “politis” which is translated in English to mean politician. The Greek famous Philosophers who influenced massively the thought process of the Greeks were Plato, Socrates and Aristotle.

The Greeks still rule the world from the grave. Dead men rule Europe, Asia, Africa, America, because their ideas were so powerful they left it behind after they died. They invented Democracy, which is the word “Dimokratía” in the Greek language and the whole western world is governed by democracy a Greek idea.

But we have to appreciate democracy; it is the best system of Government that humanity has come up with. We invented and moved from:

-Kingdoms: ruler ship by a king who has the ultimate supreme power and owns all land and the people in it.

-Imperialism: a policy of extending a country's power and influence through colonization, the use of military force, or other means.

-Colonialism: the policy or practice of acquiring full or partial political control over another country, occupying it with settlers, and exploiting it economically.

-Dictatorship: forging a will on people by a person who possesses absolute power.

-Humanism: a rationalist outlook or system of thought attaching prime importance to human rather than divine or supernatural matters. Pharaoh believed he was a god.

-Communism: a theory or system of social organization in which all property is owned by the community and each person contributes and receives according to their ability and needs.

-Socialism: a political and economic theory of social organization which advocates that the means of production, distribution, and exchange should be owned or regulated by the community as a whole.

-Deism: belief in the existence of a supreme being, specifically of a creator who does not intervene in the universe. God is seen in everything.

-Communal living: a large gathering of people sharing a common life; an intentional community of people living together, sharing common interests, often having common values and beliefs, as well as shared property, possessions, resources, and, in some communes, work, income or assets.

And finally we came up with an idea brought by the Greek called democracy and we finally said “this is it”. This is what we have been looking for; this works. Despite all this democracy still cannot work. Let’s take a look at democracy and I must confess this is the best that man has come up with.

Democracy is a manifestation of man’s distrust of himself. There is no trust on someone that we lend him/her power for a few years and in case they misbehave we can take the power back. So in many countries we vote for a person and lend them power, and if they mess up even before the term ends we have midterm elections to regain the power back. Democracy is a theory based on distrust, and can be best described as a prenuptial agreement. A woman tells a man I will marry you, but sign this just in case the marriage fails. So the couples are forced to sign an agreement made by a couple before they marry concerning the ownership of their respective assets should the marriage fail.

Now, the democratic idea is “The freedom to pursue one’s personal dreams and maximize one’s personal potential without fear of oppression. Democracy is built on Individual freedom, self-determination, a just society, protection of individual rights, civil society, rule of law (but this depends on who makes the law), and civil rights. The results of this are - jealousy, suspicion, competition, prejudice, neglect, disparity, haves and “have-nots”.

Democracy has a number of weak spots. Firstly, the democracy is governed by the rule of the majority; this is an issue because the majority can be wrong. Two men cannot get married, so right and wrong becomes a matter of majority and not a matter of conscious. Secondly, democracy has a myth of “protection of the minority” how can this be when the majority rules a place in their own way and how they feel ; this leads to the minority not to trust them. Thirdly, democracy is filled with racism. The skin pigmentation decides who runs what and who doesn’t. Fourthly, democracy capitalizes on the weak to benefit the poor. Because there are many poor people in the third world, companies move their plants to third world nations and make a person work 1$ an hour for a work that a first world citizen would work 20$ an hour for. Fifthly, democracy encourages inequality. In the same country you have a ghetto and a high society. In democracy there is abuse of privileges, once a person gets the power he/she begins to pass money under the table. Many pursue power not for service, but for self-service. All this is because the heart of man is desperately wicked.

So to conclude, yes, democracy is the best we have come up with but it is still as bad as the others. The Greek still rule the world from the grave. Dead men/women rule the world and this needs to change. It is time we adopt the creator’s Kingdom style of Government.
