Make Me Pulse @MeuZik //Team Fractal

Team Fractal’s entry at design360, Esya: IIIT-Delhi is based on the problem statement: ‘Social Search That Uses Music’. The proposed application that the team has come up with is called MeuZik.
Overview
“For many of us, our taste in music is an integral part of our identity — so much so that, to a certain extent, what we listen to is who we are”[source]. MeuZik is going to be the new hype in town. Its an app-based date-match service that allows a user to find a perfect partner to go on a date with. Your personality, thinking and psychology define your music interest and people with similar music taste have a better chance of a longer relationship. After successful matchmaking, suggestions for meeting places that play your kind of jam are given to make your date the perfect one.

Improvements in the High Fidelity Prototype
The crucial changes we made to the high fidelity prototype were made to the app were, a music preference based social profile interface, incorporation of a system to give event suggestions to the user on the basis of their and their partners matching music interests.
Genre Preferences
With a browser based extension, we analyse the user’s song mentions on the web — youtube music search and music platform playlists — to decide on the genres of interest and consequently, customise matchmaking.
Finding a match
Available with two options:
Direct: With the date having same genre / artist interests
Compatible: With the date having somewhat related genre interests (based on data of past successful dates)
After a match is found, the date can be approved or rejected by following the instructions on the screen and in-case both of the matched user’s accept the date, they can choose a suitable place to meet.
Setting Up the Perfect Date
An international study shows that businesses with music that fits their brand identity are 96% more likely to be recalled than those with unfitting music or no music at all.[2](source)
MeuZik will partner up with cafes, restaurants and clubs. Each partner will provide us with the music genre played at their locations and after matching the music played and the taste of the users, the nearest locations will be displayed on the screen ensuring a perfect date for you.
Chat Features
The application will have a chat feature integrated within, to allow matched pairs to interact. , Moreover, since the entire theme of the app is based on music, the chat session would allow creating live jams.
User Profile
MeuZik analyses your music preferences, defined by your personality traits of openness which are the strongest predictor of musical sophistication. These are the traits Meuzik studies and forms a user profile displaying the interests of the user, recommend events and experiences.

Meeting Customer Satisfaction
The target audience of our application is people who want to date, but instead of using general purpose dating apps like tinder have been saturated, we’re looking to cater to people looking for something new. This we implement by interpreting music genre preferences of different people and forming an identity trait personality of them. This enables MeuZik to find the best matches for everyone. MeuZik also provides the user with place preferences they can go to with their partners on the basis of their common traits.
Survey Analysis
Through our survey we got the following results. We found that many people are still not familiar with dating apps, we learned the music genre preferences of people, and the most popular one turned out to be EDM/Dubstep/Trap. Many people still have not experienced the benefits of automated music preference being suggested to the user, which enables the user to experience their favorite genre of music seamlessly. The results gave the preference to addition of two main features i.e make matches by similar music interests (similar artists / genres), a browser extension to get your listening preferences from youtube / soundcloud / other music websites.
