“Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.”
This explains different beauties of anyone or anything. Art is beautiful. All of art works are uniquely outstanding in their own design, in their own meaning, and just in their own way. They differ on how people appreciate their beauty. But then, even people have different perspectives about art, they still united in having big heart in art. People are fund in collecting cute stuffs, fan girl/boy things, artworks, and such things that they like. Different great artwork are located in a museum. The most famous museum here in the Philippines is the National Museum. Here are some art works in the National Museum:

THE SPOLIARIUM
 by Juan Luna y Novicio
1884
Oil on canvas
Spoliarium is the painting that has a scene of Filipinos suffer during Spaniards time. This made me realized how hard the suffering is of the Filipinos long time ago. They don’t deserve what happened to them. But it made me realize that Filipinos were strong in suffering that kind of trial they’ve gone through.

PAINTED WINDOW OF CHRIST THE KING
 by Cesar Amorsolo
 1946
 Oil on glass
Christ is our God. This painting wants to explain to us that we must adore Christ as our King. The two angels were praising Him while kneeling. This action shows great adoration for the Lord. We must adore and glorify Him as Christians.

WOMAN IN FRONT OF MIRROR
 by Victor Loyola
 1964
 Oil on canvas
Woman is in front of the mirror. It has a great impact on me. Every woman wants to be beautiful. Ladies are always looking in front of the mirror to check their looks, to check if they need to put some make up, to brush their hair, or to put a smile on their face. You should be the one who appreciates your beauty first. Not your friend, not your partner, not your mother, but yourself.

THE FIRST MASS IN LIMASAWA
 by Carlos V. Francisco
 1965
 Oil on canvas
The painting shows what happened during the first mass in Limasawa. I like this painting because it gives big importance to the religion. Now, holy mass are very important for us Christians. As a catholic, I’m glad that someone painted this kind of art that is related to faith.

EXPERIENCE
 by Lao Lian-Ben
 1978
 Oil on wood
This painting is difficult for me to understand. But I said that each of us has a different perspective about art. For me, it symbolizes the past, present, and future. There are 3 boxes in the middle, representing past, present, and future. The first box is fading because of the white on the left side so it means, “Past is past”. The second box is representing our life now. The third box is representing future because it is the biggest. All of us dream bigger than what we are now.

TILAR / PANG-ABELAN / PANG-ABLAN
 Mindoro, Vigan, Ilocos Sur, Ilokano
 Foot loom
This kind of machine is amazing. This machine is used in making clothes. It shows how Filipinos are very creative. Being inventive is wonderful. It makes me proud because of their inventive skills.

BARO AT SAYA WITH PAÑUELO
 Bicol
Cañamoso with embroidery and Crepe de Chine
Baro at saya is the normal formal clothes during old times. For me, it’s beautiful because of its value and design. Creative Filipinos were very amazing.

GITARA
 by Vicente Manansala
 Oil on canvas
The cubism is very beautiful in the eyes. This painting shows the old and original way of courting ladies. Boys go to their love’s house with a guitar and sing.

Creativity of artists is what make him outstanding. I really like what I saw in the National Museum. It recognizes Filipinos talents when it comes to art, it makes us outstanding. It makes us remember the original way of living of Filipinos. It also makes us realize that Filipinos were strong ad hardworking. Art gallery is one of the best collection that human must have. This artworks remind me of things that we should be proud of as a Filipino.
