I would say that sample surveys do have the potential to lead to a groundbreaking product. If an entrepreneur conducts a survey that has a large pool of participants, and can sample a variety of people, it could potentially reveal what a population finds most valuable. If someone can successfully invent or innovate an item that is highly sought after, they would become a very successful and influential person in our culture.
