Logitech G Pro X Super light 2

In today’s blog post, we will be taking a deep dive into the Logitech G Pro X Superlight 2. This review is based on my personal experience using the mouse for the past month. I purchased this mouse on the day of its release and have been using it extensively ever since. Throughout this blog, we will discuss the physical aspects of the mouse, the upgrades it has received, and my overall experience using it.

The Physical Design

At first glance, the Logitech G Pro X Superlight 2 looks identical to its predecessor, the 2020 version. The external shell remains unchanged, with the only noticeable upgrade being the inclusion of a USB-C port for charging. Logitech has opted to keep the same branding on the side of the mouse, which may seem odd to some. The only other difference can be found underneath the mouse, where the bottom PTFE foot has been redesigned with a straight u-shape instead of the curved bottom foot found on the 2020 version. While this may seem like a minor change, it has caused inconvenience for some users who were unable to use their previous aftermarket skates on the new Superlight 2. The larger foot size also resulted in increased friction, making the mouse feel slower in comparison. Despite these minor drawbacks, the dimensions and weight of the mouse remain consistent, making it a medium to larger-sized mouse suitable for a wide range of hand sizes.

Internal Upgrades

While the external design remains largely unchanged, Logitech has made significant upgrades to the internals of the Superlight 2. The most notable upgrade is the inclusion of the new Hero 2 sensor, which offers improved DPI tracking and a pulling rate of 2K Herz, double the standard 1K. This increase in pulling rate, while not as high as some other mice on the market, still provides a significant improvement over the previous version and helps conserve battery life. Speaking of battery life, the Superlight 2 offers approximately 95 hours of use at stock settings and around 50 hours at the 2K Herz pulling rate. Logitech has also introduced a new custom hybrid optical mechanical switch called Lightforce, which eliminates metal-on-metal contact and provides low power consumption. Initially, the switches had a deep and thick clicking sound, but after a week of use, they became smoother and less pronounced. Overall, the internal upgrades to the Superlight 2 contribute to a more responsive and accurate gaming experience.

Gaming Experience and Software

During my month of using the Superlight 2, I had the opportunity to put it through its paces in various games, including Battlefield, Titanfall 2, and Counterstrike 2. While the shape of the mouse, which is more rounded and egg-shaped, did not align perfectly with my preferred grip style, I found that the Superlight 2 performed exceptionally well in-game. The 2K polling rate provided snappy and accurate tracking, and the reduction in weight, albeit slight, contributed to a more agile and responsive feel. Logitech’s software, GHUB, has also undergone improvements, allowing for adjustable liftoff distance and the ability to match the DPI settings of other mice if desired. These enhancements make it easier to customize and fine-tune the Superlight 2 to suit individual preferences.

Conclusion

In conclusion, my one month with the Logitech G Pro X Superlight 2 has been overwhelmingly positive. While Logitech may have taken a conservative approach with the upgrades, they have done enough to keep this mouse relevant in 2023 and beyond. The inclusion of a USB-C port, the improved Hero 2 sensor, and the Lightforce optical switches all contribute to a premium gaming experience. While the rounded shape may not be to everyone’s liking, the Superlight 2’s performance in-game is exceptional. Additionally, Logitech’s GHUB software offers a range of customization options to fine-tune the mouse to individual preferences. Overall, the Logitech G Pro X Superlight 2 is a top-tier gaming mouse that is sure to satisfy both dedicated Logitech users and newcomers alike.
