Interested Challenge: Be interested instead of being interesting
I had an interested challenge in which for an entire 24 hours, my goal was to focus on only asking my friends, family members & question about themselves. I focused entirely on showing deep interest in others to see how they behave.

One of my university friend Abdur Rehman gave me a book to study “How to Win friends and influence people” written by Dale Carnegie when I visited his home last month. In this books, Part two — Six ways to make people like you Unit one “Do This And You’ll Be Welcomed Anywhere”. It was really interesting to read some simple rules to win anyone’s heart. I am writing this blog to share my experience with you all.
Lesson learnt 1: Become genuinely interested in other people
In this chapter, writer simply tells us his own personal story by giving an example of a dog explaining that dog is the only animal which doesn’t have to work for a living , he just gives love to his owner. Dale Carnegie stressed that even if we get people interested in ourselves, those people won’t be sincere to you. To have sincere people in your life, you have to be genuine interested in them and make everything about them first.
Lesson learnt 2: Greet people with admiration and enthusiasm
You must have called on helplines of banks and telephone compliant centers and the customer service representative greets you with a very polite voice that radiates energy and humbleness that makes you feel this person will do best to solve my problem.
What did I learn by applying these lessons in my life while doing this challenge?

I learnt about the grievances of my friends and family because I was not giving them proper time to have a deep conversation and talk about their life & things that matter to them the most. I didn’t had the feeling that they feel this way. It was interesting to see what’s going in life of close friends since after matric and fsc every one departed on their own journeys & we all didn’t had the fortune to talk more other than just ritual talks on the phone. Also this challenge strengthened my relationship with people whom I care the most in my life.
