Very arguable.

But then you should define better instance and consciousness. I don’t see why it is necessarily unified — under a notion of the self perhaps?

A major tautology may be involved in arguing through this.

Is it possible to define consciousness without resorting to tautology?

Consciousness can said to be unified in terms of the self.

We can’t say in terms of DNA — owing to twins and clones.
