Fight Your Unhappiness

Do you often find yourself in moods without any real idea as to why?

Over the past few years I’ve worked heavily on improving my happiness by removing any negative influences and surrounding myself with positivity but I still frequently find myself struggling to cheer up every so often. Luckily with lots of practice and trial and error I’ve found a tactic that works for me, and it’s super easy and in my experience useful.

My first step to handling my mood is identifying all the reasons I may not feel happy. Often enough it’s hard to do this because it is not one large problem making me unhappy but lots of tiny issues. For me, this is the toughest step because it can involve admitting something is affecting you more than you may wish it had.

Once I’ve identified all the reasons I may be unhappy it’s about removing them from my mind, and I can do this in a variety of ways;

Speak about it

Accept mistakes happen

Learn from it

Identify the positives

Doing this helps me to keep myself happy and allows for me to be in control of my thoughts and helps me ease my mind on a night. I’ve found that many people suppress their thoughts too often when they are negative and ride the storm until they experience something which begins to make them feel positive. Although this may appear to be effective, I believe those issues will come back to haunt you if you don’t address them soon as possible.
