Great article. I agree with all of these points actually. I’m guilty of overusing the hamburger menu, due to its simplicity of hiding away navigational elements for more clarity on content… For apps that only have a few core features like Facebook I can definitely see how it can be feasible, but how would this translate to mobile web design for e-commerce for example? Where the linklists could potentially be in the 50–100 area with secondary sub-navigation? Do you think every website should take this ‘prioritization’ approach at a sitemap level and only display the main nav elements in a segmented control pattern / fixed footers? Cheers!
