Arguably this is a meme that is a corner stone of all comedic meme culture. If memes were people, this would be Chuck Norris or the guy from Dos Equis. A myth, a legend, or probably a god. If you ask anyone who jokes around with memes, they will know of this meme, guaranteed.

The meme originally originated from a time when memes where made in the sense of being relatable. For instance in this meme, the relatable aspect was having a sense of social defeat, where you aren’t accepted by everyone; hence ‘forever alone’. Weather this would be in getting relationships, friends, looking cool, etc, the point of your thoughts not being specifically accepted among people, is the point. Another example of a meme from this time is the rage quit meme. In that you pose a scenario where you’d get enraged, and post that meme to make it relatable. I say the meme is from a different time of memes, is because currently, almost anything mildly interesting gets turned into a meme. For instance, the ‘cash me outside’ girl, doesn’t have ANYTHING relatable about it — and surprisingly thats turned into a meme. That belongs in a funny reaction compilation on Youtube, and never be seen by anyone.

One of the reasons for its ‘amazingness’ is because it came from a time when these memes were drawn; and, because of that it allowed for one person to make a drawing that was weirdly appropriate. It captured the essence of the emotion of being ‘forever alone’. Tears, fat and ugly face; in ways this embodies a person that accepts he is forever alone. Again, it is hard to tell why its so amazing, but a lot of people some how can relate. Its almost like asking why do so many american underaged girls like Justin Bieber, when i see no value for his being. I really don’t. Another aspect of why it went so viral, is because of its capability to incorporate variable scenarios. People like to customize things to show their uniqueness, in general; and so it people did it.

Nobody knows by who, how and why the meme was created. However, i personally believe the meme is a modern version of a catchphrase, where the internet is its medium. A saying, term, whatever it’d be, it is something a lot of people like to use in order to structure a thought or emotion. This would of-course apply to all memes. The nature of it going viral is something countless people — even corporations have been trying to capture since its popularity, with a lot of money. No one can control its creation, at least for now. Currently however, it looks like the forever alone meme will always be there for users, due to the variability in its applications. For the speculators, it will always stand as amazing thing to study.
