When Strangers Meet..Mid Air ,Mid Ocean or on Terra firma…
This year-old post of an engagement with TMTC popped up today…Reminded me of a mid air meeting.
I began my journey of curating conversations with corporates some moons back, thanks to Emmanuel David .
We were strangers until a chance meeting on a (much delayed) late night flight, a few years back.
We happened to sit next to one another and got talking about life and travels.
It was a deep dive conversation.. high in the air.. with no bottled spirit needed to add to it’s euphoria. Two strangers who had just met, talking in the darkened cabin, lit only by the reading lights..We were whispering as other passengers slept as the flight circled and finally landed well after 2 am…
Just as we were to land, Emmy asked what is it that I do, I replied ‘I am an actor’
He smiled and nodded ‘Oh, you did look familiar’
A few months later, I received a call from him saying he wanted to connect me to people at Voltas. That was my very first corporate engagement. Since then, I have had the privilege of speaking and curating leadership interventions across the country and overseas for organisations and at various conventions.
When people enquire how I began my journey into the space of Corporate interactions.I mostly tell them, I had a midnight, mid air encounter and I came better off it.
As I look back today, I realize, mid-air, mid-ocean or on terra firma… Life is playing out!
It constantly asks us to keep reporting for it. And as we do so each day, filled with enthusiasm and an inquisitive mindset, we increase the chances of recognising the interesting lives that intersect, with our life journey.
When asked about death, Woody Allen said, “I am not afraid of death, I just don’t want to be there when it happens”
I shall paraphrase it for me, “I am not afraid of death, I just want to be fully there for life, as it happens each day, till it does.”
Mid Air…Mid Life..Wherever..
