I admit, I was one of those liberals who were uncomfortable calling the KKK out downtown during their first rally. I also now understand why making white supremacists uncomfortable is probably the only course of action to draw attention to what modern-day racism and radicalism really is, as the US has been desensitized to it. But doesn’t bursting into neighborhoods and saying things like “we don’t want you here, get out of our community” sound a lot like exactly what they say to non-white people? Of course, they are the white supremacists and everyone else are the anti-racist protesters, but to them, does this not seem hypocritical? How can we avoid seeming hypocritical while also exposing just how serious this matter is?
