Rope Access, NAIT Schooling and a Life Of Ongoing Self Improvement

So I started looking for quotes to get me excited and happy about my journey of years and years of gaining experience in my career choice I have finally made. To tell you the truth it scares me. I keep doing math and calculating theoretical numbers to see theoretically, if it’s possible for me. So far it is possible… But with time. Much, much time. I did the math for the potential schooling and certification. Diplomas for all I would want to achieve in my career and the final total after 20 different courses came out to a WHOPPING $24,529.95. That’s just a minimum. And could possibly be over the course of 5–10 years to achieve all 20 courses. It’s hard though. because $24,000 for 20 courses isn’t that bad. It’s that matter of where to start, what order to take the courses, which are more important then others and once the time comes will I be too over qualified for employment. What’s wage like for each course added on. All of it scares me. What if I can’t handle the time away from home? How can I actually afford all of this? Will I have a fall back? And on top of it all I will be leaving a job that has given me an enormous amount of security. But what’s security really worth? It’s hard to say.
All I know is these few quotes made me laugh and pushed me a little further to the edge of taking the biggest step of my life. I hope you enjoy them as much as I did and that they will help you in motivating you towards achieving your dreams. Because really with the right mixture of time and determination; anything is literally possible!!!!
[The void] It’s that place in our lives where what we’ve been hanging onto . . . clinging to for dear life . . . is stripped away. It’s that place in us where we let go of what we know, what we think we know, and what we want and surrender to the unknown. It is the place of saying and meaning, ‘I don’t know.’ It means standing there with our hands empty for a while, sometimes watching everything we wanted disappear; our self image, our definition of who we thought we should be, the clones we’ve created of ourselves, the people we thought we had to have, the things we thought were so important to collect and surround ourselves with, the job we were certain was ours, the place we thought we’d live in all our lives. . . Surrender control to the supreme wisdom and authority of God and to the Divine in your soul. Step into the void with courage. Learn to say, I don’t know. That’s not blind faith. It’s pure faith that will allow God and your spirit to lead you wherever your soul wants and needs to go.
Melody Beattie, “Finding Your Way Home”
-Yes; risk taking is inherently failure-prone. Otherwise it would be called sure thing- taking.
Tim McMahon
-Often we… Expect and want everyday to be just like today. Even though we’re not satisfied with today, we settle for security instead of discovery.
Stephen G. Scalese
-Behold the turtle. He only makes progress when he sticks his head out.
James Bryant conant
