Thanks, but Russ wants vgo not to have a mascot — it’s just a temporary deviation from the go command, not it’s own separate thing. In Go 1.1x (for some x) it will be just ‘go’. :-)
You can buy multiples of the same design — When you add a shirt to your cart, click “buy now” and it’ll give you the option to add additional shirts. I know it’s weird.
but if you’re asking for more than one design, then unfortunately, you have to purchase them sepatately. I’m on the lookout for a vendor that offers more of a storefront for future campaigns.
Yeah, there’s a lot of that for sure. Truth is that it’s fun to build the “cool demos” but yeah, more talks about things actually working in production are necessary.
I’ve always had beef with the “evangelist” title, but there are those who preach and it works well, it’s just not for me. I discussed this a bit with my friends on the Geek Whisperers podcast a couple of years back. http://geek-whisperers.com/2015/06/from-photographer-to-developer-washley-mcnamara-ep-90/
I’ll gather some friends and write a joint post about this at some point because it’s different for everyone, but I think that a lot of people find themselves in these roles by accident. Like, a dev who just happens to be a decent public speaker and just ends up being the face of the product. A good first step is joining DevRel communities, my last two DevRel jobs came from community referrals.
