You’re Not Meant To Do What You Love. You’re Meant To Do What You’re Good At.

I have to disagree here. I don’t think people have to settle on the idea that work is work and dreams are only ever dreams. I think that we’re meant to combine both our inherent skills AND our passions.

If someone is a great writer who lives and breathes dance, they can spin these two together even if they’re dance moves never get anymore attention than the bloopers from So You Think You Can Dance. If you know how to write and you have a passion for dancing, then you can use this to explore all sorts of opportunities. Writing about music, interviewing musicians and dancers, blogging about all matters dance, creating tutorials for your favorite choreography, reviewing dance videos… There are SO MANY opportunities here. Yes, you’ve got to be damn unique and creative to turn this into a career, but if you have the drive to do it and the creativity to make it something valuable to others, then the world is your highway.

I refuse to settle with the idea that a good job is something that’s “less than excruciating.” Because of that, I’m seeing opportunities that settlers don’t go after. In fact, they don’t even see them.

Just food for thought my friends…. :-)
