Roughly 100 years ago, women were not viewed as valued members of society and were not allowed to vote, among many other things. So, as a result, women (and men) fought for that basic human right. The year is now 2016, and there is a good chance that our next president will be a woman. In our world, we think that it is insane that there was a time in history when women couldn’t cast their vote in an election. Also, I’m 100% positive that people (both men and women) had biblical “evidence” that supported their belief that women should not be allowed to vote. The same mindset applies to the Coverboy, James Charles, and the hysteria that it has caused on social media. Humans have been on the planet for thousands of years. We drive big hunks of metal that rides on rubber wheels, we communicate instantly with people all across the world, and we are living on a huge sphere flying through space at super speed, while rotating around a huge ball of gas, yet we freak out when we see a young man wearing makeup. What the hell? We believe that guys shouldn’t wear makeup. Why? Because it isn’t natural? It’s not natural when women do it either. Because the Bible doesn’t support it? Does the Bible support women wearing makeup? I don’t know. But what I do know is that now, because of this ad, there are men who like to wear makeup seeing a positive representation of themselves in this negative, mean world. And, to me, that is fantastic.
