The Difference Between Über Successful People

I was attending a conference call last night, and I heard something very interesting (and actually slightly profound).

The guy over there was this really successful internet marketer, and he was talking about a private Facebook group that he was a part of. And one of the members posted a huge success he had in business. The moment he did this, there were many posts of encouragement and congratulations because he hit this milestone.

Now, this is definitely NOT usual between common folk. When you and I do something worthy, we’re usually met with criticism. Because average people feel inadequate about themselves when someone achieves something. Successful people and leaders are encouraging to one another.

“How does this help me in business, Ashwin?” Good question. If you’re promoting a product or business and you’re constantly downing and criticizing your competition, people start to get repelled (at a conscious level sometimes, but DEFINITELY at a subconsciously level). No one likes a negative sourpuss.

So the moral of the story is to be positive. I know. It’s the biggest cliché every single one of us has heard since we put on our first diaper. But it’s true. Instead of belittling your competition, show why your product is better instead of why their product is inferior.
