Sometimes you need to instantly chat with a person via WhatsApp without saving a contact.

And there are 2 folowing options to do so:

  1. Use links, e.g. starting with wa.me and then add formated phone number meaning you need to cutt off all the spaces, braces, + symbol if it is there. Without doing so the link will not work at all.
  2. Install WhatsUppMe app once. Then select phone number in any input field. When context menu appears, click “Open WhatsApp” and enjoy!

On some custom Android versions (like MIUI) which have custom context menu “Open WhatsApp” item isn’t added, so you could share selected number via WhatsUp Me to start a chat.

Start chat from Share dialog

There are cases, when you copied a phone number (i.e. in call log) and your Android don’t open neither context menu or Share dialog. In this case you can open WhatsUp Me from the notification tray to paste the copied number and start chat almost automatically.

Get WhatsUp Me in Google Play — https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=kz.mobdev.whatsapp_me

WhatsUp Me is open source project, so feel free to create an issue or a pull request. For instance, you can support the project by adding translation on any language you know.
