As a data professional, I am always eagerly waiting for the fall as most of the conferences in data space take place exactly once the leaves turn yellow. While this is exciting time, many data professionals agree that it is also a challenging choice –work commitments and budgeting constraints limit most of us to attend only 1–2 conferences in person, but this year we can virtually visit them all because everything remote and F-R-E-E. You can plan around your schedule and enjoyed the best sessions of these conferences and stay up to date with the latest trends in data and analytics universe. To help you continue learning from best data companies and professionals, I compiled the list of best data conferences of the fall 2020.

1. Tableau Conference-ish. October 6–8.

Honestly, this one is my favorite that’s why it goes first on the list. This joyful and fun IT conference unites data professionals from all over the world and always brings tons of useful information in data analytics field:

  • new Tableau product features that will blow your mind (I’m inspired every year by the amount of new things that can be done)
  • amazing data viz competition IronViz
  • hands-on labs and training sessions for every experience level and any industry
  • Tableau doctor, Devs on Stage, Partner sessions
  • virtual networking

It starts soon, so head to the virtual registration desk here.

2. Pluralsight LIVE. October 13–16.

While this is not a pure data conference, Pluralsight is one of my favorite learning platforms when it comes to quickly picking up a new skill or learn a new technology from scratch. Their conference offers many sessions related to data, AI and analytics, so I recommend checking their agenda and register here.

3. Qlik Data Revolution Virtual Summit. October 29 (US)

While Qlik already held its annual Qlik World 2020 conference online earlier this year, this smaller one-day event offers insights about trends in data and analytics, changes in business caused by pandemic and other analytical topics that might be interested for business leaders and data professionals. Registration is available here.

4. Enterprise Data World 2020. October 20–21.

EDW is a large annual data conference which offers 12 live online sessions this year. Full agenda and registration information is available here.

5. Snowflake Data Cloud Summit. November 17 (US).

This has been a big year for Snowflake that just recently went public. The company keeps making tremendous progress with its amazing Cloud Data Platform that was built for the cloud. Usually Snowflake hosts Cloud Analytics City Tour that goes around major US cities every fall, and last year the tour was big (I attended it in person) and offered many interesting sessions. This year the tour was replaced with one-day Data Cloud Summit which offers 6 tracks with 40+ sessions across 4 world regions. Registration is already open here.

5. Amazon re:Invent. November 30 — December 18.

Largest cloud conference of the year has gone not only virtual, but also grown to the longest event of all — three weeks of virtual experience! This is not a pure data conference, but for data professionals who wants to work or are already working with AWS data offerings, this is a great opportunity to listens to the latest updates, receive hands-on training and get certified, talk to industry experts and meet with AWS partners who can help solve challenging problems.

While the full agenda and registration are still not release, you can subscribe for updates now.

Please feel free to comment if you know any other great data events that can be watched live for free or for a small fee.
