We trust and give exception to those we know. We are suspicious and unforgiving of strangers. Our world is based on consumer appetites and gratification. People in our culture look to disassociated cues(TV,movies,internet crap) for their defining cultural norms. Fewer relationships with people who are different only hastens the demise of previously accepted social fabric. Trust in institutions has always been about public perception. Trust in individuals is about the strength of relationships. The people who frequent the interwebs for validation are expecting too much of the medium. Nuance of opinion is generally located after paragraph 4, certainly not in 140 characters…
