Damien Hoffman Buzzfeed is the only media company I know that stopped focusing on being a destination website a long time ago. Their UVs have roughly been the same for the last 18 months but their native reach on other platforms has grown like crazy….

And unlike other media sites, they dont really require people to come visit buzzfeed to monetize… they can monetize that audience on platforms like FB natively (just like they did with Youtube a la Dear Kitten — the video is the Ad)… having said that, there is really nothing special about Buzzfeed that sets them apart… probably just a headstart… gonna be quite interesting to see how this is gonna play out…
