What is Machine Learning?
It is a set of methods for automatically detecting patterns in data and making predictions that help in future decision making.
Types of Machine Learning:
Machine Learning is categorized into three types.
Supervised Learning:
Consider supervised learning as guided learning. In supervised learning, we have a data set that helps the algorithm to train the model. Once we have trained the model we can start making predictions when new data is given to it.
Unsupervised Learning:
In unsupervised learning the model learns through observation and finds structures in the data. It automatically finds patterns and relationships in the data set by creating clusters in it.
Suppose we have a data set of cats and dogs images and we want a model that will differentiate between cat and dog. When we pass our data set through the model it finds some similar patterns and divides the datasets into clusters. Now if we fed new data to our model, it will add it to one of the created clusters.
Reinforcement Learning:
In reinforcement learning, the model faces a game-like situation.
The model does trial and error to come up with the solution to the problem. It works on rewards or penalties for the actions it performs. Its goal is to maximize the total reward.
