The Mobile World Congress is on every startup’s calendar before the year even begins. This year, the MainTool Team got to attend the technology showcase and present its smart watch strap.
We were invited to participate at the Mobile World Congress last fall and were one of the youngest startups at the event. Many consider the Mobile World Congress to be the place to introduce the latest avant garde technology on the market. The Congress takes place in Barcelona, one of the most important tech cities in Europe, over a one week period.
Our team had a busy week. First, we presented the MainTool smart watch strap at 4YFN, a congress event inside MWC that features the most innovative startups in the world. We also collaborated directly with La French Tech, arguably the biggest french startup community, on its Internet of Things hackathon. At the hackathon, we advised the brightest students of the country on their projects and judged them. …
Every challenge is a step forward, no matter how difficult. For the past few months, the MainTool team has been working long hours and drinking liters of coffee. We ended our crazy March in Tokyo, where we saw our hard work pay off at Pioneers Asia 2016.
MainTool was one of 25 startups invited to participate at the Pioneers Festival, which gathers the most promising startups worldwide and gives them the opportunity to pitch to more than 1,000 Asian industry players.
After some hectic days in London, the MainTool team travelled to Switzerland to participate in BaselWorld. Our goal was clear: share our vision about the future of the watch industry.
MainTool, as many of you know, aims to revolutionize the traditional watchmaking industry with our smart watch strap, which makes any classic watch smart. BaselWorld is the biggest watch fair in the world, and we were beyond excited to introduce our smart watch strap to the watch industry’s leading players.
At Baselworld, each watch brand shows off its latest timepieces and innovations for the year. In fact, we met with many key players in the watch industry at this fair and introduced them to our product, which changes the rules of the watch and “smartwatch” industries.
Stay tuned for the upcoming news!
You can’t move forward if you stay in one place. We’ve always known this, and in March we travelled to London, a hotspot for innovative startups in Europe, to showcase the MainTool band at the Wearable Technology Show.
MainTool joined dozens of promising startups at the showcase in London, one of the biggest wearable events worldwide. After two years of intense product development and work on our smartwatch strap, we couldn’t miss the chance to attend the show and introduce the MainTool band to the wearable industry for the first time.
We thought we shook things up a bit with our vision to combine tradition and technology, and apparently we weren’t the only ones. Forbes chose the MainTool band as one of the 10 game-changing wearable devices after the show. …
The promising year, 2016, has started with great opportunities with lots of big news on the way.
As a winner MainTool was invited to the biggest men fashion fair in the world, Pitti Uomo 89, with the most exclusive and powerful men brands across the globe.
The last couple of days, MainTool was present in the event with a booth, showing the innovative watch straps that will revolutionize the watch industry.
Overall, an amazing experience at Pitti Uomo with all the fashion leaders of the world.

The wearable device market has been on the incline for the last several years. Some projections even suggest that the wearable device market will reach more than 6.3 billion in revenue by 2020 at minimum according to a report from Tractica. Today the applications of wrist wear wearable tech has its’ focus on entertainment and health/activity monitoring; but there is little to no doubt that the future of this market lies in the development of the medical device space.
MainTool, is already starting to move towards this direction as we are teaming up with insurance agencies, residential health care centers, and hospitals as verticals in our entry. One market that has demanded the MainTool Smart Strap has been the elderly population. While the Apple Watch or a Fitbit is desired because of the flashy market entry, there is one fact that remains; they are gadgets and not watches. These wearables compromise on the brand and culture the classic timepiece; causing the elderly population to remain hesitant to buy one. MainTool solves this adoption problem and has developed a partnership with a software platform called Senior Growth to maximize its utility in this population. …
