Summary of the project

We believe that multidisciplinary teams thrive when members possess a holistic understanding of the project at hand. This belief serves as the foundation for the proposal of our upcoming training program.

Are you interested in organizing your own training course, or are you a youth worker seeking to broaden your perspective and skills? If so, this training opportunity is tailored for you.

In the realm of Human Rights Education (HRE), youth organizations often face limitations in resource allocation, leading to a lack of specialized teams with defined roles. In many cases, the same group of trainers must juggle both project management and administrative tasks. This scenario underscores the need for professionals with a holistic approach and versatile skill sets.

Join us as we delve into the intricacies of project management, facilitation, and holistic leadership in the context of HRE. Together, we’ll equip ourselves with the tools and perspectives necessary to navigate the challenges and maximize the impact of our endeavors.

We look forward to welcoming you to this enriching training experience.

Aim: to equip 20 youth workers, youth leaders and trainers with competencies in project management and facilitation skills necessary to improve the quality of Human Rights Education (HRE) activities by exploring experiential learning-based methods, reviewing organisational processes based on project cycle structure and developing a digital working culture.

Objectives:

  • To gain a better understanding of the concepts of Human Rights, Peace, diverse forms of violence, conflict, non-violence and conflict transformation with the approach to serve as a conceptual framework for HRE activities.
  • To empower participants to join the HRE practitioner’s community by proposing new activities at the local, regional or European levels.
  • To understand the basics of Non-formal education based on the experiential learning cycle.
  • To build the interdisciplinary framework of competencies of trainers, facilitators and project managers.
  • To learn and practice how to design a project, an educational program and session outlines.
  • To explore the digital suit needed to manage the administrative, logistics, education and evaluation of a training course.
  • To gain knowledge about the basic educational methods of non-formal education including those structuring general activities, reflection groups and evaluation.
  • To facilitate the process of designing at least 6 follow-up educational activities aiming to transform local conflicts by using the conclusions and techniques acquired during the training
  • To create a sustainable network of cooperation of trainers, project managers and facilitators at the European level motivated to work together and as actors of the HRE community.

Profile of participants

  • People who are looking to become a trainer and organise their own training course in Human Rights Education.
  • Experienced trainers looking to improve their skills and gain a holistic approach to project management and use digital tools that will help in your work.
  • Managers of youth organizations and/or training activities who are willing to gain a pedagogical perspective and learn educational methods.
  • People interested in the field of peace, human rights, non-formal education and youth work.
  • Available to take part in the whole duration of the project.
  • Interested in creating a community where we will debate, ask ourselves and others, think, learn and unlearn from each other.

How do we work?

The training course will be based on the principles of non-formal education: it will have a planned programme of personal and social education for young people designed to improve a range of skills and competencies, outside the formal educational curriculum.

We will implement the essential elements of non-formal education, such as the education being voluntary, organized with educational objectives, participatory and learner-centred, about learning life skills and preparing for active citizenship, based on involving both individual and group learning with a collective approach, holistic and process-oriented, as well as based on experience and action (we will plan the follow-up activities) and starts from the needs of the participants.

COSTS

Education is a right that we have as human beings, even if sometimes we have to pay for it. This is why we are happy and grateful to tell you that this training is for FREE and everything is covered by Erasmus +

We will be able to reimburse you for your travel to Madrid with limits covered by Erasmus+
