I started to write a response about how you missed the mark. The more I wrote the more I thought of counter arguments and decided, “this guy is right”.

The Beatles are great primarily because two geniuses teamed up with two greats. They went from a cover band to a metamorphosis into music that will stand next to Mozart for centuries. That change and growth is what I’m seeing in Taylor Swift. Even her songs as a young teen were interesting to me and I’m old enough to be her dad. The switch from country to pop mirrors the change the Beatles went through.

I like her music but it seldom touches me. Time will validate her and especially if she creates her own Sgt. pepper album. Red or 1989 may end up being that album.
