Gaucho Profile: Passion for Politics

Aaron Strockis is a full-time student studying at the University of California, Santa Barbara. He is currently in his third year and majoring in political science. Strockis plans to further his education after graduation by applying to law school, with the long-term goal of a career in law. Strockis is interning in the San Diego District Attorney’s office this summer to gain real-world experience in the field. In the meantime, he hopes to use UCSB courses to continue to develop his written skills. Furthermore, he plans on applying for a University of California, D.C. program next year in our nation’s capital. The program allows students to study in Washington, D.C. for a quarter and earn units via an internship. Strockis is particularly interested in this program because of his focus on politics as well as his desire to experience life outside of California. Born in San Diego, Strockis has never left the Southern California beach town environment. Although he loves California and plans on ultimately settling down on the west coast, Strockis wants a chance to explore other regions of the United States. For now, he is enjoying studying at UCSB and preparing for the next chapter of his life.
