Fire over Mendocino National Forest with Landmapper-BC imagery

On August 27th we’ve captured the Butte/Tehama/Glenn Lightning Complex with our Landmapper-BC satellite. This fire is one of in the series of fires California is currently fighting.

We’ve processed the whole image with NBR index (Normalized Burn Ratio):

To see closer the burnt areas we’ve also applied zone analysis on the top of this image. Red areas show burnt land, yellow stains show the land currently under smog that our Red, Green and NIR sensors can’t see through.
