Interesting you should say that — I’d argue that we CAN prove it. Kepler has recorded the light curve of this/these objects(s) and a lot of information can be recorded from these light curves. For one, we might be able to derive the shape of the object(s). I wrote about this a couple of years ago: http://news.discovery.com/space/could-kepler-detect-alien-artifacts-110513.htm — imagine if the shape of the light curve reveals a square, or some other geometric object? Say if the second transit (D1500) of that series of objects reveals that each transit is caused by a swarm of similar geometric objects? Perhaps this would at least provide solid evidence for the “megastructure” hypothesis? Perhaps a number of solar collectors orbiting in a constellation…
