Enviable Endearing Emerald
Emerald is part of the beryl family and comes in only one exquisite color: Emerald green. There has been some confusion about a red stone marketed as “the Red Emerald,” a red beryl also known as bixbite that does not command the high value that true green Emerald does.
Emerald is known as “the stone of successful love,” and is said to ensure bliss, sensitivity and loyalty. Like love, it must be handled with care and protected from extreme heat or cold.
Highly valued and treasured by collectors and lovers of beauty for thousands of years, exquisite, rare and treasured Emeralds are an unmistakable rich vibrant green. Very few are without flaws. In some cases, a flaw may actually be the telltale detail that helps collectors trace the original dig or source of a stone. Spanish, English and French royalty viewed all Emeralds as treasure. In fact, Emeralds were more coveted than gold.
Directly associated with love, Emerald has a strong connection with the heart chakra. It’s said to balance one’s emotion, and also improve the quality and balance in all alliances. Instead of heating up dialogue with anger, Emerald quiets one’s approach, choice of words, and reactions. In other words, Emerald generates and attracts peace, love and harmony.
Very sensitive and aware individuals rely on Emerald to help them focus on one priority at a time. It’s said that Emeralds can rid a person of negativity. Once negativity is eliminated, Emeralds heighten one’s awareness and all but insure one’s ability to attract very positive and considerate friends and acquaintances.
Emeralds are said to help most of us to relax. Holding an Emerald during meditation can assist in reaching a deeper meditative state. Emeralds also can generate very positive results in legal matters. Additionally, Emeralds are thought to assist in healing ailments that attack the spine, lungs, eyes, heart and muscular system.
Astrologically speaking, Emeralds rule the signs Aries, Taurus and Gemini, each one corresponding to Fire, Earth and Air. The only astrological quality Emeralds don’t address is Water, represented by Cancer, Scorpio and Pisces.
There are affordable Emeralds available, but generally speaking, these stones are pale green with visible cracks. The finest, most enviable Emeralds will always be well cut and remain vibrant green….
