Hello Vladislav, I am an upwork freelancer too and I really think that Upwork could explain to you the cause of your ban much better. But, first of all, title of your article is not correct. They banned you not because you’re premium, but because you violated some their policies. Being premium gives you opportunities, but is not cancelling your responsibility to follow rules. But now, look, you have 60 connects and you decided to find a job. It’s your (and mine) responsibility to apply to a job posting that will lead you to offer with maximum probability. Just imagine, you will spend all your connects in day or two, you send proposals to 30 different clients and if every freelancer will do so, clients will be just crazy because they will not have idea how to choose the best contractor. They will choose random people and number of negative feedbacks about upwork will grow every day. It’s an obligation of every freelancer to apply only to jobs that may lead you to hire process with maximum probability. I can’t even spend a half of my connects because there’is no that many projects that may lead me to offer. I carefully read upwork notices, job description, feedback to clients and (more important) to freelancers. And I apply only to 10% of job postings among all that I found interesting for me. You obviously stood in wrong place and time. And being premium, means that your apply and self-marketing skills should be above average, and your mistake is really obvious for me. I check my job feed every 2–3 hours and save jobs for the future. Then I apply to 5 and waiting, then withdraw old ones and apply to new 5 and so on. And believe me, it’s much much more effective then just hitting ‘submit a proposal’ button many times a day. Yes, upwork guys may be not too polite, but I believe that they are not idiots to confirm their mistake 3 times after your postings in social networks, etc. I am a freelancer too, I’ve been working at upwork for 10 years and it’s obvious for me why they did so. I am sorry.
