Improve your Word Knowledge Score

Step 1: Word Knowledge Practice Test #1

Tap on the “Tests” section on the home screen in ASVAB Mastery. Then select Practice Test #1. Do the Word Knowledge practice test.

After you complete the test, go back through the questions and read the explanations.

Step 2: Review the Word Knowledge Flashcards

Tap on the “Flashcards” section on the home screen. Then select ASVAB Word Knowledge.

After viewing the flashcard, tap on “View Definition”. On the definition screen, choose “Don’t Know”, “Somewhat Know”, or “Know”.

After you have gone through all of the Flashcards, go back to the Word Knowledge category screen.

At the top of the screen, you will see numbers inside of circles. Tap on the Yellow circle (not the one with the star), which contains the flashcards you tagged as “Somewhat Know”. After selecting the Yellow circle, select Word Knowledge.

**The goal here is to review the flashcards you “Somewhat Know”, but this time, hopefully you will be confident enough in your understanding to mark them as “Know”.

Once you have re-read the “Somewhat Know” flashcards enough times that you have marked all of them as “Know”, repeat the process for the flashcards that you marked “Don’t Know”.

With enough review of these flashcards, you will be able to mark all of them as “Know” — and then you can move on to the next step.

Step 3: Complete All Word Knowledge Practice Questions

Tap on the “Questions” section on the home screen. Then select English, followed by Word Knowledge. Answer all of the practice questions. As you do the questions, carefully read the explanations. On the explanation screen, choose “Don’t Know”, “Somewhat Know”, or “Know”.

After you have answered all of the questions, go back to the English category screen.

At the top of the screen, you will see numbers inside of circles. Tap on the Yellow circle (not the one with the star), which contains the questions you tagged as “Somewhat Know”. After selecting the Yellow circle, select Word Knowledge.
